Is this became mandatory for the winner ?
He needs to call someone out or he will not be considered as a serious and interesting contender ?

I can't make threads anymore.

This is exactly how Conor v Barboza would go.

"I'll fight anyone they put in front of me" = typical cliche call out

"I want (insert name) next" = also typical cliche call out

It's clearly a question that the interviewer is told to ask. Everyone loves a good callout.

You know if someone would just do something like this during a post fight interview, we wouldn't need threads like these

How many are good callouts though? That's why I hate this question having become almost mandatory for octagon interviews. I'd rather the occasional truly motivated callout shine in solitary splendor than be buried among boring pro forma answers.

I would lol and become a fan tbh

The more fighters "call out" (yuck) the less work the promoters have to do

It's just job sluffing

That seems to be about the only opportunity fighters have to voice what they want. So it would be smart of them to go for broke, except those who ask for “Of the Night” bonuses. That shit just sounds desperate.

Not a new thing by any means, been going on for years.

"Anderson Silva, you straight up suck!" -Chael P. Sonnen approved Method.

"I'll fight whoever the UFC puts in front of me"

means... I'll do whatever the UFC tells me to do because I'm a puppet and can't sell fights.

Who doesn't love a good call out? It must be fun to have a job where you get to call another person out to a fight.

I agree
What do you suggest then?
Maybe just to ignore the question?

Rogan: so ,what's next ,who would you like to fight next ?

Fighter: i dont want to talk about it

They are not mandatory but it's a good opportunity for the fighters. In their place, before the fight i would look at all the fights that "make sense" for me and then basically publically give the idea to the matchmakers, and maybe some silly wwe stuff to get the fans behind it.

But if you are going the "i will fight whoever the UFC will put in front of me" then better just shut up

yes it seems lame unless you say you want the champ and dont call his name then
