I have a strange feeling about this one too. I called the Bisping Rockhold first round KO, and there have been a few fights where something seemed off: Holly v Ronda, Holly v Meisha, Weidman v Anderson… Diaz v Conor.
Logic suggest that Cormier should 100% win this via decision. He should be able to take him down at will, and keep him there.
That said… Short notice fights are tough. Everyone thinks it's an advantage for the existing fighter but not really. You train timing, distance and a game plan for one guy only to have that flipped last minute. In this case it's not just flipped, but flipped with a very unorthodox guy.
Anderson has length. A strong guard [He shouldn't get finished]. He still has elite striking… He also has nothing to lose [At a higher weight], and that's dangerous for someone facing the Spider.
Don't be surprised if Anderson lands something. The MMA God's are being real assholes lately, and the UFC would have a mini crisis on their hands if Anderson won.
