First watch: Didn't score it, but thought Alexander Gustafsson won 3 rounds.

Second or third watch: I scored it Jones 4-1.

An in-depth rewatch today: Jon Jones won round 4 and 5 without question, arguably won Round 2, although that was the swing round. I don't see how Chris Lee and Doug Crosby gave Jones Round 3.

Very close fight, if you PRIDE scored it then Jones won, he won the battle of attrition and Alexander Gustafsson showed us his kryptonite and that's his gas tank late in fights. He turns his back and runs when he is tired, he no long wants to be in there, and that is the exact same thing that lost him the fight against Daniel Cormier after doing very well early on.

Jon Jones has his spinning back elbow that landed late in Round 4 to thank for winning this fight. If that didn't land he would have lost Round 4 and would have 100% lost the fight.

I have a hard time giving Gustafsson the first 3 rounds, Round 1 was close, but I did score if for Gustafsson. Round 3 was also no landslide but I did give it to Alex.

What I will say is that Round 4 and Round 5 had Alex in a lot more danger than Jon was ever in. Jon was never once in trouble and ate everything with relative ease. I think his failed grappling attempts and the clear lack of preparation for the bout led to his fatigue. I think Jon would break Alex in a rematch.

Look, anyone who acts like the fight was clear-cut either way has either watched the fight more than 5 times and can honestly say they came to the same conclusion every time....

....or you're either a Jones nuthugger OR hater.

Me personally, I scored the fight 3-2 Jones, but it could've gone to Gus as well. I'd love to see a rematch.

Jones lost his whole career for being a roid cheater

I thought Jones won handily the first and only time I watched it. Gus definitely put up a good fight, but there's no way he won ..

A rematch would not be as kind to Gus. There’s a reason why Gus pulled out of the schedule rematch at UFC 178.

If Bones didn't land that late round hellbow I would have gave it to Gus on damage alone but I favor Pride rulings. His hands were superior and he implemented that reach well. I think a good striker who also has reach that can implement distance well will always give Bones major problems, we just don't see many like Gus in LHW.

Probably still a millionaire, still has never lost, and every single MMA bout without USADA sanctioning is therefore under questioning. I never want you to ever celebrate a pre-USADA athlete or anyone from any other MMA organisation.

Never know, they might be on steroids, right?

1. Presumption of innocence, ever heard about it?

2. Lance Armstrong has millions too. But his career is in trash. Like Jones'

I haven't watched since it was live but I recall it being Jones 2,4,5. Gus won 1 and 3.

If i remember correctly I had Gus taking 1 and 2, and then Jones coming back and winning 3,4,5.

Haven’t seen it since it aired live though so my memory is slightly hazy. Might have to get on fight pass and give it a rewatch.

Honesty every round was super close. Even round 4 until Jones landed that elbow. Gus did not do enough to win the belt. Fight was too close..

Considering Gus had zero experience dealing with the pre-title fight promotional circus and also zero experience in the championship rounds, let alone even preparing for a 5-rounder, Jon had a massive experience advantage going into the fight.

For me it's 48-47 Jones without much question, but whenever I rewatch it I'm still surprised Gus did as well as he did even with those disadvantages.

Jones only won because he came on strong due to being juiced up and even then I scored it 3-2 to Gus.

I still think he will be back with 1 more chance. Still only 31. But he has thrown most of his prime away. Scary he still did more than really anyone ever.. Has not been active in 4 years..

4-1 either way is ludacris. Youre on drugs.
