California Democrats Decriminalize Child prostitution

The easiest way to reduce crime is to just decriminalize everything.

The crime is still occuring, just not reported or reprimanded.

Liberals hope that girls who were hookers, or people who shop lift have equal opportunities when they decide they want to apply for a job.

Hopefully in the future top jobs will be filled with hookers and shoplifters.

FWIW:

Might be more to this than right wing partisan sites are making it out to be. If your kid got caught up in this crap, would you want her to be treated like a victim or a criminal, a whore?

Clearly as a criminal. They should have harsher punishments too, to make sure their life isnt ruined. Im thinking mandatory minimum of 10 years.

If my kid was a prostitute, I would be fine with them being sent to Juvenile Detention for awhile.

Great so if you live in cali your teenage daughter can go out blowing old men and not be punished.

Do liberals have any values at all?

Beginning on Jan. 1, prostitution by minors will be technically legal in California.

SB 1322 bars law enforcement from arresting sex workers who are under the age of 18 for soliciting or engaging in prostitution, or loitering with the intent to do so. So teenage girls (and boys) in California will soon be free to have sex in exchange for money without fear of arrest or prosecution.

Goddamn misinformation is like a wildfire.
  1. This does not make having sex with a minor legal;
  2. This does not make living off the avails of prostitution (pimping) legal;
  3. This does not make public procurement legal;
  4. From the text of the very bill itself (https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=201520160SB1322): "This bill would make the above provisions inapplicable to a child under 18 years of age who is alleged to have engaged in conduct that would, if committed by an adult, violate the above provisions. The bill would authorize the minor to be taken into temporary custody under limited circumstances."
So, what the Bill is proposing is to insulate children from criminal liability for acts they are forced into by sex traffickers. The point is to allow children to be taken into protective services rather than arrested if they are being exploited.

Honestly, people.

I know a girl hooker who did coke and worked at a skank bar who became a cop. She drank with cops when she was 18-19, so you know, she was cool. Try being a white male in the suburbs without a cop dad and not getting a record.. Ever see those drunk driver commercials? Pretty much all dudes, except one.

The girl I know who became a cop last year used me as a reference, because I'm the only person she knows she didn't do blow with. I helped, of course. She seems to be doing ok, but I have a DV on my record for taking keys out of the hand of a crazy lady who said she was going to drive off a bridge.. And I got a DUI a week after I turned 17. It's garbage how many jobs I was an am excluded from, being a non-drinking non-drug using father of 4.5.

#1. It makes the act of prostitution legal for girls and boys 15-16-17 who know better and should also know it's against the law.

You are missing a key detail.... that in good probability they are being forced into it by adults that they are afraid of and can hurt them.

Facts and logic...how dare you bring then here! ; )

This entirely misunderstands the purpose of the law. Did you even read the remainder of my post?

I think the idea was to make it so the girls are not afraid of the cops.

And maybe help put the shit heads that pimp them in jail.

Usually minors are forced to do it and John's will still be prosecuted. I can see the state not wanting minors to have a record because they may not have any say in what they are being forced to do. State giving help vs prosecution is probably the right move.

Read the article. Pimps may try to take advantage. We'll see what happens. They need to go after Pimps.

I read the article. Let's be smart here.
1) kids that want to prostitute without pimps can without getting arrested
2) if you were a pimp, would you want to have hookers who could not be prosecuted and would not roll on you if they get busted?

You way of thinking is very fucking stupid and probably did not happen at all. Making prostitution legal for children is not helping the children. Remember underage criminal records are usually sealed after they become adults.

This is very horrible and is going to have horrible results.
Democrats trying to get the pedophile vote now I see.

If anyone who believes this is "legalizing child prostitution" cares (they do not), please read the US Department of Justice's position on child sex trafficking:

https://www.justice.gov/criminal-ceos/prostitution-children

Unsurprisingly, this California law accords directly with it.

^ see above, of course John's would be arrested if tryiing to get a 13 year old hooker.

Instead of posting a link, post your proof from the link here....

Minors are not legal guardians of themselves. You can take them off the street and try other options. CPS, shelters, counseling, etc. Underaged people can still be tried as adults as well. So instead of treating them like a criminal, they can treat the like a victim and try to help.

From what I've read, most underage girls are forced. So this Underage girls without pimps thing is not the norm.

If they literally just let the Minors go on their way without helping them then yes this idea was stupid.

Who are you arguing against? No one here was misinformed about any of the above.

That sucks. My friend in high school had a high ranking police officer father.

Kid goes out to taco bell, crashes his car being drunk.

Wakes up the next morning, In his bed and taco bell in fridge, lol.

He is a cop now

Pizza's for everyone in California now I guess...not surprised since Hollywood and Porn are big businesses here.

California...biggest POS state in the union.....sad considering its a very beautiful state once you get north of Ojai.
