The CA government has no one to blame but itself. It created a system that did not work and then expected millions of people to comply with it. Now that its system completely failed it has been forced to remove the registration requirement for the time being.

Earlier today, FPC joined three other gun rights groups and individual gun owners in filing a new civil rights lawsuit challenging the DOJ’s failed “assault weapon” registration system, which prevented gun owners from complying with the laws before the July 1 deadline. Becerra, in Riverside County Superior Court.

Not surprised. Saw an article that said 6k registered. That is likely a drop in the bucket on who owned ARs.

From what I can tell in Hawaii they had a low participation rate when they introduced their registry. A guy I know just built an 80%'er. We laughed at the thought of him strolling into the cop shop to register it.
