I hope we get to see this someday, I know people will jump on me and say Carwin has no chance but he has the wrestling to counter Cain's and really heavy hands...

Would love this with a healthy 6'5 Big Shane!

This fight was supposed to happen a few years ago, then they bumped Carwin up to fight Lesnar instead, then Lesnar got sick and Carwin fought Mir for the interim belt. Would have been great then - 2 undefeated top contenders. Now, Carwin has to win a handful of fights to be anywhere near contention.

Eh, Shane is getting up there (age wise). His days are limited. And if he needs a few fights first? I don't think this is happening.

Carwin has horrible muscle endurance, and fades after round 1 probably more than any other fighter.

This actually could've happened if Carwin hadn't gotten injured. A win over Nelson would've put him right back up there but I don't think he's fighting again, much less Cain.

Carwin vs Werdum is more likely to happen.

Haha, exactly this. Carwin has power, but would have to knock Cain out pretty quick.

Carwin has 1 good round then gets picked apart. He's always dangerous in the 1st though.

This, bad backs don't go away. He's 37. He's not winning enough fights to earn a shot at Cain.

    LOL

Yeah, Carwin seems like he is done, and he would gas after the first 2 takedown attempts Cain threw at him. I'm not even joking sadly.

I would love to see it but doubt that we will. Carwin has had a bad run with injuries. Even when he is healthy enough to have his next fight he will have to get a few wins in to get a title shot. With his luck he could possibly be injured again before that happens.

I like Carwin myself...but unless he ko'd cain in the 1st or 2nd round...he'd pretty much have no chance...he wouldn't be able to keep up with cain's pace

had he not gotten injured and fought Nelson, I'm sure he would have one.

He has a great chin as we seen in the JDS fight and if his cardio was good I think this fight would be fantastic. But as someone said he is getting up there in age.

But you never know, it's not like HW is swimming with top contenders or even great prospects. There was two great prospects and they just fought for a second time for the title.

So this is my prediction. Reem beats Big Foot. Reem fights Cain. Cain beats Reem via wrestling. Cain then fights JDS again.

Maybe throw Werdum in there if he gets past Nog, but he already lost to JDS and Reem.

I don't know, the division is seriously lacking.
