HE WILL BE MISSED!
Great fighter, I'd put him in the mix with Michael Cro Cop, Bork Lazer & Frank Mur
Peak Cain Velasquez is the greatest HW I've ever seen.
In before leg extensions
MMA is such a brutal sport. With people getting into this game younger and younger, I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot more cases of "what if" similair to Cains. I truly think he could have been one of the HW goats had he stayed healthy.
Cains going to get excited from seeing this thread and jump up in the air only to blow out both knees when he comes down. Pro wrestling career ruined. Good job TS
His tattoo still sucks
Prime Cain mauled people
I appreciate the level of violence Cain brought to the cage.
That dude is violent!
Unfortunately he'll be remembered most for his Limbo skills
he had like 4-5 good fights in a decade, held up the hw division twice when he was champ, and then quit. i'm not a fan. averaged 1 fight a year in the last decade. terrible.
To put into perspective how great Cain was, this was pre-USADA Overeem vs. Brock:
This was "cycling" Overeem vs. "TRT" Bigfoot:
Cain vs "TRT" Bigfoot: (granted, Cain was probably on some special enhancers)
at his peak during the JDS trilogy period, cain was the absolute best fighter in the history of combat sports. i know that it's such an incredibly difficult thing to prove but when he performed at his best he was an unstoppable machine at hw with the output of a bw. it was unbelievable and I'm very grateful to have witnessed it.
He may not have the goat hw resume, but in terms of individual performances at HW, he has put on some of the most impressive bouts.
I’m a fan. Unfortunately he couldn’t stay healthy.
Cain in his early career was something special he will be the Griffey jr of mma had flashes of all time greatness but injuries derailed him. Still one of my top 3 favorites
Weak chin, terrible defense, too small
I don’t think I’ve ever cheered for Velasquez, aside from the Browne fight...
But I’m happy for him and his move to the WWE and hope it works out for him.
I just hope his body is able to handle it.
