Cain is the One Who Needs to Earn a Shot at Jones

The heavyweight title is earned and along with it comes the title of the baddest man on this planet.

Jones can simply say he wants a heavy weight title shot and the UFC and Dana White would bend over backwards to make it happen. So what's stopping him?

Cain is injured like always and he has a scheduled fight versus Werdum.

Yesterday Jones said he would fight Cain in a second.

He backed off of that immediately.
You can argue about who "deserves" what all you want. Truth is, Jones would have to go up for the fight to take place. As such, it really matters very little what Cain does or does not do if Jones is unwilling to change divisions.

No it doesn't. Weidman and Jones have been carrying the PPV buys they're the most popular champs by far in the casual fans eye.

This idea that the Heavyweight title is the most prestigious is so antiquated, look at Boxing the most popular divisions are the lower ones. No one gives half a shit about the Klitschko's they don't even put their fights on PPV

They are selling more right now. But if you throw Brock in the title fight the numbers for both Jon and Chris wouldn't 't add up. If you put the same two guys against each other 3 times in a row of course the numbers drop.

Okay? All you're doing is proving my point, there are different eras where certain divisions are better and more popular.

For a while Heavyweight was the UfC's highest selling and most popular division. For the last couple years it's been LHW and MW that have been the catalysts, as well as WW for a while as GSP blew all the Heavyweight numbers out of the water while he was around.

Maybe if Brock comes back you'll have an argument that casuals like the Heavyweight champion best but right now that's just not true.

absolutely right

not only that, but Cain is the one who will profit from this fight.

Jones has already achieved greatness and will go down in the history books. He can easily solidify his legacy and end all GOAT discussions at his natural weight class.

Cain cannot, if he can't get the Jones fight who is he ever going to beat to fulfill his greatness in an old and shallow division like heavyweight?

True this is Cain's chance at stardom and lots of moolah.

But he seems completely oblivious that you have to sell a fight so I never see him campaigning for this.

the premise is silly and a lot of time was wasted on the op.

neither fighter deserves the super fight more than the other, and neither has to "earn it"

both divisions are pretty well cleaned out and everyone is bored. that's the reason anyone talks about a super fight. that's it. the point is to sell a ppv and for both to make bank and finally for both to give back to the fans who have had to watch a lot of one-sided beatdowns and hyped up fights that ended up sucking wrinkled donger.

And he also said that his weight cut's are getting easier with maturity, therefore he don't need to go up. And right he is, Cain would maul him.

I don't know how you can say Cain "cleaned out his division" when he's only beaten two fighters in like the last 3-years lol.

oh that's right, he hasn't beaten mir, arlovski, nelson, and browne. forgot about those terrific fighters. let's throw schaub and mitrione into the discussion too.

or let's admit that werdum is the only one left and that cain is going to walk through him.

the division is the weakest in all mma--that's why we had to watch cain v. jds III and bigfoot II

lol now the jones nuthuggers are going crazy with this shit.

HW>lhw n it will always be that way.

The HW division has been poor ever since Lesnar left.

LW, WW and MW are the best divisions right now.

Heavyweight Champ >> LightHeavyweight Champ.
You my make points but the HW strap in the eye of the public means more.

The problem with the flawed statement is: The HW strap is rarely in the eye of the public. The LHW strap is the one with all the eyes on it. Last nights fight alone was more prestigious than Cains' entire career. The only people that think the HW strap means more, are those who hate Jones. The HW Grand Prix Champ, a guy who was steamrolling HW's just lost to Jones. In the past five years Cain has only fought 3 people. All 3 would lose to Jones.

Lol yeah sure kiddo, because the LHW division is just the cream of the crop these days.

I get it, you want to hype "your guy" but get real... just like Cain could give two hoots about the LHW belt, he cares even less for PPV numbers or marketability. .. if he did, he would be out there attention whoring aswell. The guy just genuinely just like to compete and kick a$$

Sorry you need dramatic story lines and fictitious personas to watch the sport dude. But then again, that explains youre heavy liking of JBJ.

Agreed there...now jones obviously has a better resume..no doubt...but look at the names fighters in LHW and HW...obviously jones has a better resume...but saying cain has to earn thr shot hahah...dun kid urself bro..cain gives a rat's ass about LHW...and ppl got to realise that there is a difference when u get hit by a heavyweight in the face and when u get hit my LHW...tey being a punching bag for guys like carwin and JDS and be a punching bag for mist of LHW...see the difference?? Only few fighters (rumble jhonson) mite hit as hard....there is a differece dude

He's the heavyweight champion of the world. Therefore the baddest man on the planet. He doesn't need to fight Jones.

Please, Brock Lesnar won the belt in 3 fights. HW belt is the heaviest class but the stars have long been the marquee 205 class. Chuck, Tito, Shogun, Rampage are household names.
