Nice signing, joining Jiri who signed yesterday. Dana must know that LHW is too shallow for great PPV numbers.
Awesomeas he finallyas signedas withas UFCas
"Get him a 15/15 and a kit."
I used to watch every cage warriors as they happened.I think FB for most then Junkie started doing prelims and I don't remember but after they went under I just don't care anymore.Their roster is meh at best while we have seen some great orgs that are more worth watching come out or get bigger. As far as this guy it's whatever,he's only 25 so he should improve.I watched a few fights, nothing great.
No disrespect to Redmond,I picked him once years and years ago against a guy everyone else picked because of their records but I study footage, not records (well a little like everyone).Reality is though, that guy was a WW for most of his fights I saw him in,has a 7-15 record and almost took this dudes head off.Caught him perfect,it happens but still.
God damn, a rare Lithuanian sign. If Rose Namajunas is anything to go by, people should watch out for him.
Edit: his technique is far from good lol.
Cool, LHW division getting another prospect
Decent enough signing I think, I figured Jai Herbert would be the next cage warriors guy to get the call though.
He looks ok against cans and C tier CW guys. No way to tell how good he really is. KO loss to a can doesn't look too good for him tho.
That was three and a half years ago to be fair and he has 6 stoppage wins in a row since then.
Damn that KO was worse than I remembered.
With only 3 of those being against fighters with records above .500. And 2 of the others are fairly early in their careers with no spectacular wins themselves.
I'm sure he'll do fairly well at LHW. I just need to see him do something special against a quality fighter.
Yeah that's fair. After those two losses in a row I think he took some time off to re-assess his game and he's looked good to me since, but like you say he might not fare so well against UFC competition.
Nice. He'll be on the prelims of the London card, then. Probably fighting someone like Nico Negumereanu. Modestas isn't bad but I don't see him lasting too long in the UFC, similar trajectory to someone like Joachim Christensen - 1-3 and cut.
A bit of offtop - seems to me like from all ex-USSR countries only citizens of Azerbaijan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan never fought in the UFC?
Also, seems like 0 Estonian citizens, I thought Kuivanen was Estonian, but from his wiki and sherdog pages looks like he is Finnish.
Lol just what the UFC LHW needed, another glass chin Euro-Striker with no ground game...
Jon Jones right now:
damn that was violent
