Cage Fashion First Ever MMA Fashion Show

Ok, let's not be mean about it. Though the cauliflower ear implants comment was funny as shit.

Ok, constructive criticism here. Now making sense of the fashion world can be a pain in the ass for us that know nothing about it, but from what I can tell, fashion shows aren't really supposed to makes sense. They're crazy, extravagant, and flamboyant. I get that. The issue that we're running into is that everyone is marketing this as our subculture, and it's far from the truth. You might catch me wearing something like this at a club that plays super-loud repetitive music that hasn't changed since the mid-90s, but not so much in the day to day urban jungle that we live in. I love Couture (in a non-gay way), and all that he has done for the industry, but he doesn't fight anymore. He's here to make money. He's a marketer, and he's doing a great job at it by using his mainstream status to take a clothing line and make it "look" like something it's not. But the fact of the matter is, it's not us. It's not our subculture. We can't wear it to the gym, we can't train in it, and we can't fight in it - so why are we marketing it as an MMA clothing line? To make money off of people that admire, but don't participate in MMA (i.e. mainstream MMA fans) and we despise people that buy them for that reason. Look at how many times we trash TapouT for doing the same thing. So you can't just come into an MMA forum and ask what they think, because it's just like everything else we can buy at Macy's, Dillard's, or wherever else we can get similar items. Not to say it's not any good, you're just looking for answers in the wrong place.

Good video and cool fashion show!!! BUT MMA related?? NOT!!!! To try to market those types of clothing as an MMA FASHION show....thats just ridiculous!! That not my style of fashion anyways.... Can I ask how any of those clothing is related to MMA at all??? And how is that an MMA fashion show?? If it was all athletic wear and showed people in fight shorts, rash guards, gi, and stuff like that....then I can understand why it would a MMA fashion show!

i want to apologise for the dickish remark but, it pisses me off every time i see that shit. it should be called mma fan fashion or wannabe ware.

here is my feedback:

some of the stuff looks perty cool but most of it is way too flashy for me. i think the clothing should be more athletic and geared toward training and comfort. its hard enough to scrub off ringworm and staph after a good day on the mat, add glitter to that and your asking for trouble. the womems apparle just flat out confuses me.

to everyone bitching and whining?

would you prefer mma go back to where no one cared and we had to find our gear in back alleys? would you like to have to get a specific cable company in order to be able to buy the PPV's because not every cable company caries it

if so then cool - you're a hardcore old schooler.

if not then shut the fuck up because you have to take the good with the bad for going mainstream. anyway half this stuff is shit we talk about every day - just worn by models. war the old school pride T's

Nothing you said made sense to the topic presented.

As much as we want (or not, in the case of some) MMA to be successful, it doesn't mean we have to be in favour of every single thing related to MMA. There are definitely mis-steps, and I think it's fine to call something a mis-step.

That I can agree with. You don't have to be in favor of it. But the way it was reacted to people seem to think its the worst thing to ever happen to MMA.

What are you, 15? Did they let you out of school early there on the west coast, or are you still in the computer lab for your comp class?

Very good rebuttal that I have never seen before, I am extremely impressed.

Regardless of your opinions of my age, if you are not a single minded douchebag you can see exactly how what I said relates.

As things such as sports become mainstream they are bound to be exploited in every way possible. This step was taken in Japan (yeah you know that place many people seem to think is MMA holy land) a long time ago. Bitching about it is retarded because its wasting your breath, unless you're a fan of the MMA dark ages, if thats the case then I commend your efforts and respect your opinion.

Your opinion on the other hand seems to hold little weight given your lack of ability to respond with any sort of originality.

Because you're comment was original?

Nuh uh... you're a douchebag, douchebag.

Seems more fitting for this argument. Was either this, or "I know you are, but what am I?"
