Buy or sell: Ryan Bader could win the UFC LHW title right now

A year ago, I wouldn't even entertain this idea, because no matter how much he improved, he would never beat rumble or jones. Well look where we are now, both of them are gone.

To win the title he'd have to beat kne of DC or Gus. I think the Gus fight is easier for obvious reasons, but I wouldn't count him out against DC. Especially now coming off a KO loss and him being near 40.

What say you all, if Bader was still in the UFC, could he be champ?

Nah he wouldn't hang with either Gus or DC

think about it, Baders alright if he can get a takedown but he isn't touching neither

If the broken shards of DC's soul are still half the fighter he was a couple weeks ago, he'll finish Bader. Hard to tell tbh what he'll look like after his first real loss and a NC to boot.

DC is a terrible matchup for Bader. He would have a shot against everyone else if he didn't just try to box and actually use his wrestling

He'd be in with the mix with the likes of Glover and Manuwa, better than most of division but no real threat to DC or Gus

Volkan touches him when he goes for a takedown and he goes to sleep.

Also DC and Gus maul him.

MMAth doesn't always work, but look at how the standup went between Glover and Gus compared to how it went between Glover and Bader, and Gus has quite good wrestling these days to neutralize Bader's.

Buy. He's improved a lot since he last fought Jones. Like a lot. Like more than most fighters. Like a lot more than most fighters. I would give him a good shot to beat DC.

I could absolutely see him outpointing Cormier. DC is not taking him down and they are pretty evenly matched in a standup. Bader is bigger and his gas tank is OK. Would watch for sure.
