I had the pleasure of filming a lesson from Former UFC and WEC fighter and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt Mackens Semerzier. Mack teaches out of the Pride Training Center in Virginia Beach, VA and is a fantastic instructor.

Check out this lesson on entering the Butterfly Guard and some of the finer details of sweeping from this position. The Reverse X-Guard was a new position for me, but has been effective in the few rolls I've tried it in.

I like the series... specially the reverse butterfly sweep. I think though, that sweeping to the side from regular butterfly is better if you are really going for the sweep.... If you want tot transition to X guard, then the 45 degree is obviously better because they ARE going to post their leg...
