Any advice greatly appreciated.

Background -
After a two year break in schooling - I'm graduating this May with a BS in biology and a minor in accounting. I've applied and been admitted to the Master of Accounting Program at my current university. If I choose this route, I hope to secure an audit job with a big 4 accounting firm in the Fall and after a few years go back for an MBA then onto private industry.

Don't get an MBA immediately after graduating undergrad. Even with only 2 years of experience you won't get the full bang for your buck.

If you want to get into biotech, Hopkins has an MS in Biotechnology that you can do online. http://advanced.jhu.edu/academics/graduate-degree-programs/biotechnology/

Also, the Master's in Accounting is pretty valuable, especially if you want to go for your CPA. While you won't have to actually use the CPA, it will boost your credibility in the business world tremendously, and if you ever choose to get your MBA after that you'll be able to skip out a lot of the accounting/finance classes.

I have my MBA, and many of us already had a first graduate degree prior. There were a lot of MA/Accounting people there, several PhDs, JDs, MDs, etc.

Thanks for the reply. After writing out my post, its pretty much the same conclusion I came to. If I enroll in the MA in accounting program, I definitely plan to sit for the CPA and hopefully pass before Aug. 2015.

If recruiters from other universities are contacting you, aren't their opportunities to transfer to better ranked programs if your goal is to work at a big four firm? Those firms make a big deal of which university you attended and which program you finished.
