It doesnt seem to make much difference apart from being able to hear their coaches. The one's of a nervous disposition, its helps I would guess.

Without a crowd octagon shock/adrenaline dumps for first time fighters seems to be less relevant. Especially with the contender series being a feeder promotion for the UFC. They get their feet wet with the media obligations and from being in a high pressure fight not much different than their actual UFC experience.
I'm also curious if the judges can hear the commentary crew. If so, then the commentary crew calling rounds for fighters might influence the judges score cards, which would be relevant if you're live betting.
