“On the other side we have Michael Chandler a beast, former Bellator champ, beat two former UFC fighters. I think we have a tough one right there. People are gonna be surprised about Michael Chandler. Hes different., hes explosive, has good wrestling, has quick hands. I just believe he is gonna be a champion. That Dan Hooker fight is gonna be the toughest fight but I believe he can do it. Michael Chandler has the power to be champion. Michael had multiple offers, money wise UFC wasnt even the biggest offer. But Michael liked it, he wants to compete with the best. I like that so much [about him]. That talks how hungry he is. I predict he can and will be UFC champion in 2021”

  • Thinks his loss to Dan Hooker was because bad weight cuts at LW but wont make excuse
  • He was supposed to fight Usman since Dec, then Jan and now officially in Feb. Kept getting pushed back by Usman


Damn thats some serious confidence in Michael Chandler. Really hyped for this fight, if Chandler finishes Dan I will become a believer too lol.
 
chandler takes so much damage, I think there are lots of guys at lw that end up beating him
 
I doubt it somehow, he was knocked out by a fighter weight at some bush league promotion.

Well he is fighting for belt soon and alot of people are favoring him to pull it off. So makes sense for him to keep his name out there in media

I think Chandler will beat Hooker and we will learn a lot about him. For now it’s too early to tell if he’s champ material though.
 
No chance. He’s a highlight reel win for anyone in the top 5, and it is possible that he loses 9/10 to the top 10. He isn’t even Bellator’s second best LW.
 
Usman vs Gilbert would have looked great on the 257 card. js. Wierd but a title fight can be a co-main to a non title fight.
 
His training partner thinks he'll win? We've seen these predictions before...about as accurate as a coin flip. The bottom line is there are a lot of unknowns about Chandler. He hasn't fought anyone elite (besides maybe FW Friere who KO'd him) in years. His win over Eddie Alvarez was 9 years ago. Most of his recent opponents (corpse of Bendo, Sidney Outlaw, Girtz, etc.) aren't the caliber of fighters of Hooker, Poirier, Gaethje, etc. And how will he look under USADA? In Bellator, he looked like a bodybuilder AND had good cardio...signs of both juice and EPO. And it's even unknown how the Bellator/non-USADA version of Chandler would do in the UFC. What if he comes in smaller and a smaller gas tank? There are too many variables to make serious bets or predictions about him.
 
He could very well be champ for a night but that's it.

I don't believe the UFC wasn't the biggest offer.

Who else would offer better money? The PFL? They pay peanuts unless you win the million at the end of the season.

One FC? They pay well (as Askren, Alvarez and Mighty Mouse will point out) but there is never a chance at PPV points you can potentially get if you become the champ in the UFC. I suspect it was probably the only other reasonable offer he got given they would probably like to run back the Alvarez - Chandler fights
 
Come on guys, let him back his bud up while dragging some attention, this aint first or last time we see it
 
I really hope Chandler does well in the UFC but it always sticks in my mind that he lost to Will Brooks twice and we all know how well Brooks did in the UFC lol

They train together and Chandler is fighting Hooker (who ran through burns) so of course he would say this lol
