Just saw that he has never been stopped by strikes in like 38 fights. And in this fight he showed a good chin to survive Lombard's bombs. I don't remember his other fights in the UFC, how durable is he really(to those who know him better)

Surprised he's never been knocked out, but even with an unbreakable chin he still got terribly outclassed

he should get some props for tonight, had a decent gameplan, cardio just wasnt there tonight. he hung in there, and did pretty well in the exchanges when everyone thought he would get besmirched.

There was an uppercut in the second round that most fighters would have been Ko'ed by.

Awesome chin but he should think about replacing Eric Cartman for a new striking and cardio coach

Very durable. He used to gas hard and get cracked over and over early in his UFC career. I mean, multiple fights. Lost a lot of decisions because of that.

Are you guys crazy? Burkman looked great for a huge underdog. He landed numerous body kicks, showed absolutely NO FEAR of Lombards power. He gassed and that was it, if he upped that conditioning i'd take him in a rematch. "Top 10" Lombard looked pretty weak.

I guess you can call yourself a man if you can stand in front of Lombard with your hands at your hips staring him down

I think his cardio had something to do with that bruise that wrapped around his whole leg

He also didn't have enough power to match Lombard's, and was already getting thoroughly outworked and outstruck in the end of the first. Good effort considering the difference in level, but it wasn't just cardio that led to him getting so outclassed.

I don't say this to take away from Burkman but Lombard was quite obviously pacing himself.

He knew he could stalk and ping away at Josh with complete and total immunity, so he was happy to walk him down and smash him up in small bursts.

Lombard didn't blitz a single time, even when he hurt him. Everything was controlled. What you saw is a tough guy (with all due respect) fighting a much better opponent who didn't want to gas out in the process of summarily kicking his ass.

I was equally impressed with Lombard's chin. Burkman was landing some good shots in the first and didn't even phase Lombard.
