Brussels bombings: Fears of terror attack in Belgium capital

At least two explosions have rocked the Belgian capital of Brussels, with reports of explosions in or near several parked cars.

Early reports suggest there were up to three explosions on residential streets in the business district of Saint Gilles.

The Mirror is reporting two explosions were heard on streets in the business district of Saint Gilles, but they may have been caused by a number of cars that appear to be on fire.

There are no confirmed reports of what caused the explosions or whether they are part of a terrorist attack.

The blasts took place around midnight, Belgium time, near a popular cafe in the Belgian capital.

Yeah it doesn't make much sense. Probably just vandalism. But I kept reading there were multiple explosions and that tipped me off. It could have been just one.

Highly probable it was just vandalism at this point. It wasn't a car bomb.

Twitter speculation is that they were targeted for anti-Islamic newspapers, but that's pure speculation at this point.

Keep in mind this was also on Twitter under Brussels.

Doesn't necessarily strike me as a snackbar attack unless the vehicles were targeted because they carried certain types of papers (as reported earlier, but no word on that).
