Yes, it does make things more difficult, considering trolls are usually prolific posters and some threads don't make much sense with replies to blocked trolls.

That's exactly why I keep seeing troll shit, because I see someone replying and I'm think 'wait, what' and foolishly hitting 'show hidden'

I never used it but spacetime did the final motivation for me. Now I just put them on ignore fast if it seems the right move. Life is too short to talk with trolls online or even read their posts.

me and my friend are doing a web series where we talk about old movies that one or both of us have never seen, to see how they hold up. We're both pretty big film buffs, but my friend has never seen any Bruce Lee movies. So they're going on the list.
