How does it go down? Haven't seen much interest in this fight...

i think kelvin has to come out aggressive and try and sub brown if he wants to win, i don't see kelvin winning this fight late, however i see brown getting a late tko. Kelvin has to come in on shape and with a good gameplan or its going to be a long night.

overall though i think either kevlin 1st round sub or brown 3rd round tko

edit: just realized its a 5 rounder, that definitely reinforces the idea that kelvin needs to be aggressive early and go for a finish.

I think Brown can fend of the subs.

Does seem to have gotten a little "lost in the wash" after several high profile announcements over the past week or so. Still nearly three months away. Kind of a strange pairing on the surface. Big test for both guys. Despite his well documented weight issues, I still think that Gastelum has a big upside if he can get comfortable with 170. Hell, even at MW he is a load.

With Brown, you know what you are going to get. :icon_evil

I had wanted Brown vs Magny for a while. Brown vs Gastellum is a great matchup though; clash of styles. Brown needs to work on his knees and get-ups, but has elbows and great cage cutting. Gastellum will go in close so elbows should be effective against him, but he's really scrappy... Tough fight for both. Can't wait!

Gastelum comes in at 190, loses split decision and gets dropped from UFC.

Gastelum would lay on him enroute to an unimpressive win. He doesn't have impressive cardio, but he has a good chin and Brown doesn't have much knockout power.

Think Brown gets bullied a bit until Kelvin gasses around the halfway point in the third, then Brown will tune him up.

Also think Kelvin will miss weight again, because well, it is Kelvin.

If it's a five rounder I think Kelvin gasses and Brown stops him late. It will look a lot like when he fought Rick Story I think.

I'd pick brown by decision. Gastellum comes out strong and takes the first two then Brown comes back to win 3, 4, and 5 as Gastellum fades.

Should be a great fight. Brown will rarely take a step back, but I think his best years are behind him and Gastelum is a strong, hungry kid. Gastelum wins by TKO in 3rd and Mike Brown, GOD bless him, officially becomes a gatekeeper.

Going to be an awesome fight. Sucks one guy has to lose. I think Matt will bring the violence & break Kelvin though. If Kelvin wants to win he'll need to stay on him like glue.

Gastelum will try to ground Brown as often as possible. He doesn't really use angles so i expect him to get punched alot in the chin and Brown has some really great power. I think it all depends on how long Brown can keep it on the feet per round. The longer he keeps it standing, the higher his chances are of scoring the tko.

also depends on what kind of mental state Gastelum will be in after he misses weight again.

Gastellum round 3 rear naked choke.

Gastellum's wrestling is really really impressive, and he has much more fluidity in his movements and punching.

If it goes later than 3rd round though I think Brown's experience and will takes over and he finishes it late in the fight via TKO.

I like Brown's experience and craftiness in this fight. Gastelum won't be able to handle the deep waters that Brown will drag him into.

I love Brown but he isn't winning this, Gastellum is going to get a boring decision
