Remember when Brock floored Heath Herring and then charged across the octagon at him like a pissed-of rhino? Of course, we all do. But do you remember Heath stuffing multiple takedowns, escaping from the bottom several times, and surviving all three rounds? Yes, Brock won an easy decision, but he came in to that fight at 50 pounds bigger than Heath and still had to fight and claw to control Heath.

We remember him choking out Carwin, but do we remember Carwin piss-pounding him into a living death in the first round?

Before I re-watched Brock's fights, I was picking him to win versus Hunt. But his fights and perceived abilities were all tainted by the larger-than-life persona and stage and hype at the time. In hindsight, it's clear that he's a huge guy and a very good wrestler who has struggled every time he has fought top competition (e.g. guys at or above Hunt's level). He's never beaten a guy as good as Mark Hunt is. Most importantly, he's never controlled someone anywhere near as strong as Mark.

Before last night, I thought Brock would grind and out-cardio Mark. But after watching Brock struggle to hold down Herring for fifteen minutes, I'm leaning toward Mark rather easily stuffing Brock's takedowns and landing the big shot in the first round to send Lesnar into the fetal position.

Brock is very hittable, Hunt hits very hard, so yeah I think Hunt has got this. Brock will likely get him down a few times but Hunt is tough as hell so I doubt Brock will be able to finish him on the ground.

This fight is 1 round. I don't think Hunt will survive with Brock on top. He's very heavy and slow on his back but I do think he will knock Brock out before the takedown. May even stuff a few takedowns.

I've been re watching brocks fights . I must say people can say what they want about him but he was in some exciting fights.
He's clearly got a lot of punching power. He dropped herring with a punch that was basically aimed at his eye .

Brock's takedowns are highly overrated around here.

I love that I honestly can't tell what will happen. Also remember Herring is not to be taken lightly. I actually regarded that as a pretty impressive win at the time. It all depends on how Brock comes back. Yes he no longer has diverticulitis but he's also 5 years older and must have lost a step. All in all if hunt is on point he likely wins this. If lazy hunt shows up he could be in trouble.

Most people have already come to that conclusion.

Hunt is walking away with this one and hopefully if Reem beats Stipe, we can see Reem vs Hunt II for the belt.

Let's be real, there's a difference between stuffing a takedown and standing tall against a takedown on the cage.

He is so huge and has so much muscle that he gasses out too fast. He can still keep on fighting gassed but he poses no danger in that state. I would be really surprised if Hunt blew this.

Carwin, Mir, couture are all better then hunt when Brock fought them. Hunt is 12-10. His last two fights are vs guys who seem to be getting knocked out lately by anything that touches their face.

Brock's wrestling is easily the most overrated skill in MMA history.

Personally I love watching Brock fight, when he out boxed Randy.

If Hunt walk off KOs Lesnar stiff then he's the hardest puncher to ever fight in the UFC without question, Brock doesn't react well to getting hit but he does have a helluva chin.

Yeah, I was careful to say that Hunt will make Brock go fetal, not KO him outright.

This could get interesting, though, because if Mark knocks Brock down, he is unlikely to follow him to the ground. I suspect he'll have the ref make Brock get back up. I anticipate this fight ending similarly to the way a bad field sobriety tests ends -- with one guy conscious but unable to walk a straight line.

Let's not forget that Brock himself is merely 4-3 in the UFC. Hunt actually has a higher UFC win %.
But look at Brock's losses.
Cain was just legit. Everyone loses to Cain.
Reem, you could tell Brock looked sick and wasn't doing well.
And Mir, you can thank mazagatti for that one.

LOL @ Brock struggling with Herring. Oh' my God, Herring stuffed a couple of take downs. He also got raped so badly, that Brock was literally riding him like a horse at the end of the fight.
