I have to admit that I was impressed by Lesnar against Hunt. Coming off of a 4 year layoff and beating a Top 10 opponent is unheard of. What Lesnar lacks in technique he makes up for in freak athleticism. I mean all he did was wrestle him to the ground and avoid punches, but you know what that was enough to beat a guy who has been wrecking many of the top Heavyweights. Lesnar is a beast. So how does he do against the current Top 5?

1. Stipe Miocic

2. Fabricio Werdum

3. Cain Velasquez

4. Alistair Overeem

5. Junior Dos Santos

Give your thoughts on each opponent.

I think he can beat Stipe honestly, and potentially AO in a rematch. Werdum should eat him alive, Cain would maul him again, and JDS is a nightmare matchup for him.

Honestly they are all bad matchups for Brock. I wouldn't favor him against any of those fighters. They all have better striking than Brock, and I think he struggles to take any of them down consistently, except for Werdum, who he shouldn't take down.

I can't believe someone with Brock's level of striking could compete with the best, but he can somehow. I'd say Brock could win a few but cain is still killing him

I don't see Brock beating any of those, but who knows, this is what's great about MMA! Brock's size and power makes the HW division much more interesting though.

He could beat the old Reem, the one that did not conserve his energy. I don't see him take Reem down and if he comes in the clinch, he doesn't survive. I like Brock and I am glad he's back, but your analyzing skills are prettty poor. JDS a nightmare matchup but not Reem?

I think he loses to all of those, and i have alot of respect for him,but he was much larger than Hunt, and is exceptionally good at Hunts weakness.

Brock being champ means a shallow division or a cleared path to it.

Brock would beat them all. All he did was wrestle him?? wrong.. he out struck Hunt in striking on the feet!!! just amazing, out landed him. then obviously took Hunts ass down and beat the snot out of him. 5 years off! and to do that is just simply amazing.

i agree, his massive reach and height won him that fight with hunt, he didnt look stellar doing it either.

I see Overeem punishing him with knees again.

But actual fights less interesting.

The hell? Bork got destroyed by a worse Overeem, but somehow he'd beat the one who might become champ? Lazer's best chance would be against JDS, but I still don't like his chances there. JDS isn't the biggest HW and isn't nearly as good as he used to be, but he's not as slow as Hunt.

I think he can beat potentially beat any of them, but I really don't like his chances against Cain or Stipe because they have the wrestling to avoid his game. I give him about a 40% chance against JDS, and I favour him against Reem and Werdum.

Brock wins against people who he has a huge size and strength advantage over and cant defend take downs. Thats it. He has no fighting skills. His striking is embarrassing.
Hell lets give him Nelson next ?

JDS doesn't wilt like Reem does under pressure, and has significantly better TDD.
JDS has better TDD, this is based on what? JDS has been taken down 14 times in his last 5 fights, Overeem just once.

And it is about the type of pressure. Brock should land something really big, that's his only chance to land a takedown versus Overeem. Overeem would have more trouble with Brock if he could land combinations and set a takedown up. This what he did versus Hunt, will never work.

Yeah I still don't think he has the striking to hang with the elite and avoid damage, and he will struggle with his wrestling more against guys like Stipe and Cain who can move really well, and against JDS and Overeem, where he will be more hesitant due to their power.
