Brian Stann commentary appreciation thread

First off, I wanna say I am not a fan of Stann as a fighter, nor as a person.
I just don't like him in general.

But the last two days with Stann in commentary has really made me realize how good he is with it compared to Joe Roidgain. He is techical, he doesn't pick favorites, and actually points out the goods in both fighters strategies.
Unlike Rogan he doesn't pose silly questions to why the fighter isn't throwing more kick/more TDs/more strikes etc. He calls the fight as it is, and through both events, he completely said what I was thinking.

Nice, balanced and unbiased commentary... only problem was Anik.

Anyone here agree/disagree?

Dude this is sherdog,so everyone will be negative about everything.But Stann is becoming my favorite commentator.

Only think i would like from him,is to try to predict less what is going to happen,because fights are so random,that even if you know your shit,most of the times you are going to end up being wrong!

i found the commentary boring and didnt pay much attention to it, not sure if that was stanns fault or anik. ...probably anik but i dont remember stanns commentary at all, he could have been good but i just dont remember anything he said

I agree. He predicted wrongly a couple of times, but that's alright, I guess. It shows how unpredictable the fights can be.

Also his voice doesn't grate on my nerves.

Brian Stann is the best commentator the UFC has IMO but I think it would be inaccurate to say he doesn't pick favourites. I also really like Dan Hardy. Dunno why they don't use him more often.

I don't like the UFC commentators, they're always so politically correct for the most part, afraid to address mismatches when they see them and exaggerate things too.

I guess it's the Anik effect. He didn't even get excited when something big happened, like a knockdown. I was like WTF!? He seemed bored.

I much prefer Rogan. I know enough to not have to listen to technical analysis and Rogan brings excitement nobody else does

I agree. Florian is no good. Dan Hardy is actually good too.
He is getting better, because I really didn't notice him before the last two events.

Stan's pretty good, my dad likes his College football stuff. Anybody else think that Goldberg's an airhead though? I like his energy, but I lost all my respect for him after calling a sloppy Stockton Slap a "piston of a jab".

God, I hate Rogan and Goldberg. Both just piss me off with their crap. Rogans dickriding and Goldbergs stupidity. Really annoying. But the plus is the energy and enthusiasm, can't deny that.

Fantastic commentator. I feel I learn more about what's going on when he's on the mic.
