There will be no replacement opponent for Brian Ortega at UFC 226.
Following featherweight champ Max Holloway’s withdrawal from the card on Wednesday due to concussion-like symptoms, Ortega has been scratched from the card. MMAjunkie confirmed the news with a person with knowledge of the move following an initial report from Brazilian news outlet Combate.
There have been preliminary reports from Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times that rescheduling the fight for UFC 227 on Aug. 4 in Los Angeles has been discussed. Holloway’s team did not provide a response to MMAjunkie when asked about that possibility.
UFC 226 takes place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass. The event will proceed with 11 fights, although it’s still yet to be determined which fight will be elevated to the main card.

I hope Max recovers soon, but I think he is now up there with the likes of Cain, Aldo, Khabib, etc. in terms of pulling out. Dude should stop calling himself Blessed, cause he clearly isnt.
