Journeyman Stephens can fight the 150 lb king Josh Emmett. Except for Frankie, Elkins is probably the toughest matchup in the division for Ortega. Beating Cub is not title warranting in a division this stacked when the Champ already has a fight. Contenders “waiting” is no different than Champions refusing to defend.

They didn´t let Maia take a break. He already had a huge winning streak and was more than deserving, yet they forced him to fight Masvidal and after that gave him the smallest camp ever of his career for his TS.

Ortega really should take the fight just to stay busy. It's about as good a style matchup as he could possibly have in the division but I think I'm done doubting Elkins and his Homer Simpson fighting style. Maybe he does the same thing to Ortega as he did to Hioki.... blew my mind then and it would blow it again, but I'm done counting it out as a possibility. It's like I'm watching a movie every time Elkins fights .

They didnt force Maia to fight Masvidal.. He accepted the fight, he didn't have to.

Mmmm. Would folk be keen on Holloway v Aldo 3 - if Aldo was to fight Elkins and beat him. It would feel similar to the level of interest with Aldo v Edgar 3.

Personally I'd rank Elkins over Emmett, Emmet is 4-1 in the UFC with one great win over lamas, Elkins has 6 wins in a row with notable wins over Bermudez and Johnson. Ortega 5-0-1 really only has one great win against Cub, Also whats going on with Yair? hes 6-1 in the UFC with no fight lined up. I don't understand the ridiculous ranking system they have in place, I don't think anyone does but regardless there is lots of great match ups and to me no clear top contender. It's almost looking like a tournament would be a good idea.
