Seems like the EU has made it clear either the UK becomes a colony and gets Brexit in name only or it's No Deal. People keep acting like this has entirely been on Parliament. It hasn't the EU's conditions are absurd and no in the UK should agree with paying that extortion money.

In what way are the EU conditions absurd. They come down to 'if you want to get the benefits that members of the club get, you have to follow the rules of the club'. It is the Brexit people that keep wanting all the benefits of free trade where it suits them, and not where it doesn't.

£39 billion to leave the EU? That's extortion. Plain and simple. They have made it either No Deal or Brexit in name only. Which means No Deal and no extortion money. And if they actually think the UK will leave with no deal, they will finally compromise IMO.

39 billion to pay for things they have already agreed to pay. Pensions, contributions to EU wide science projects and other commitments. Hard to negotiate other trade deals with non-EU countries if they know you just 'peaced out' on one without meeting your outstanding obligations.

The UK will pay the 39 billion either way. They agreed to a budget back in 2013 and if they try to weasel out in case of no deal the EU will simple sue them and the courts in The Hague will force them to pay up. Also, trying to secure a trade deal with the biggest trade bloc in the world after shafting them for that much money wouldn't go too well.

It's not 39 billion upfront by the way (though quite a bit of it is), a significant portion of that figure is in payments through 2028.

This campaign in Peterborough is the perfect example of how idiotic the mentality of "Conservatives" in the UK is. Bristow claims he's a Brexiteer and apparently is telling people door to door he will support No Deal based on what some are saying on social media, but he's appearing with Jeremy Hunt and other staunch Remainers and Brexit saboteurs.

Oh man. That TV debate was depressing af. Good ol Boris had no idea what to do. He rambled on about negotiating backstop details in the interim phase after Brexit, but there is no interim phase if there is no backstop.

Also the newest YouGov polls spell doom. The members of the Conservative Party want their Brexit so badly that 63 percent would be willing to give the Union with Scotland and 59 percent the bond with Northern Ireland for it. 54 percent would accept that their own party would break, and are convinced that a hard Brexit would help them win the next elections.

Then the killer question: Would they rather have someone as head of government who had a good Brexit plan but no vision for the country, the pollsters wanted to know. More than half didn't care about the country's well-being, only Brexit was a priority. It is these people, on average between 65 and 75 years old, who choose the next prime minister among the five men, who presented their visions for the country on Tuesday evening for an hour on the BBC.
