Oh man. That TV debate was depressing af. Good ol Boris had no idea what to do. He rambled on about negotiating backstop details in the interim phase after Brexit, but there is no interim phase if there is no backstop.
Also the newest YouGov polls spell doom. The members of the Conservative Party want their Brexit so badly that 63 percent would be willing to give the Union with Scotland and 59 percent the bond with Northern Ireland for it. 54 percent would accept that their own party would break, and are convinced that a hard Brexit would help them win the next elections.
Then the killer question: Would they rather have someone as head of government who had a good Brexit plan but no vision for the country, the pollsters wanted to know. More than half didn't care about the country's well-being, only Brexit was a priority. It is these people, on average between 65 and 75 years old, who choose the next prime minister among the five men, who presented their visions for the country on Tuesday evening for an hour on the BBC. The bad news for the members of the Tories: a "good Brexit plan" was not included.
