BREAKING: Canelo vs GGG 2 officially cancelled

For over a month, I've been discussing this fight potentially being canceled with people in this forum. More than a few wanted it called off.

It seemed more and more likely this was gonna happen but I figured Oscar would've offered some extra cash to get Canelo out of this hole.
Ideally I'd like the Saunders fight at this point even if it isn't on May 5 as much as I like to fanboy for Golovkin (I do, very much) I really can't see myself dropping PPV money for a Spike O'Sullivan fight

In a way, if he can survive this fallout and continue winning, I think Canelo's numbers will actually improve with the right opponents. The level of personal distaste people have for him now is similar to when Floyd was getting popped for domestic violence. I have a feeling even more people will be tuning in to watch Canelo lose more than they ever did to see him win. Same reason people still tuned in to watch Pacquiao fight Margarito. But it'll take the right opponent to create the perception that he can lose. Luckily there's a lot of those around 160 and 168, being that Canelo is pretty undersized.

Those are the media + boxers scorecards for the fight. Out of 146 cards, 116 has Golovkin winning, 21 had it a Draw, only 9 had Canelo winning. Of those 9, 2 were Golden Boy promoters. Seriously, 80% of the world thought Canelo lost, while about 5% thought he won.

I've seen you post on here before, all you do is swim against the current. You thought Pac-Bradley was a draw, you thought Canelo beat Golovkin, and you thought Ward beat Kovalev. Now ask yourself, what kind of contrarian douche feels the need to flex his nuts and score all of those fights against the general public? You are insufferable and a shit poster.

Several of us said that we wanted the fight to happen on the 5th but if there was another year long delay that we hoped GGG would have all the belts and have retired by then. Not even close to saying we didn't want the fight to happen.

you're making things up in your head. We all want to see Canelo get his ass beat (which I wasn't confident in before, but now think is quite possible given that Clenelo Alvaroids will turn into his much flabbier, less defined, less staminous cousin Cleanelo WADAlvarez). I'm surprised you don't either given that you tend to be pretty anti-PED. You were angry when Povetkin was being considered to fight Wilder after he tested positive after all.
