Carlos was always big on cooking from what I saw on Instagram posts. Here's hoping he can get another W next Saturday.

Now who's cherry picking? Condit threw baby kicks and backpedaled/ran away the entire fight. I was a big Condit fan going into that fight. Dude always showed up and fought in some great wars, but he robbed the fans of a JBG classic by fighting like a wussbag. I wasn't even hoping for a specific result, I just wanted/expected to see a balls-to-the-wall fight. Diaz tried to do that; Carlos was content to run.

I’m cherry picking...deliberately.

My cherry picking is better than your cherry picking, because Carlos did more to win that fight.

Sure, he ran to reset his feet and to follow his gameplan—it was lame, but it worked.

Diaz could have adapted to Condit’s gameplan, but he didn’t.

I'll take Octagon control, effective striking, and taking Condit's back in round 5 over the pitter patter nonsense CC spammed the whole time.
 
Who is the little Asian dude?? I've never seen him in the scene before.

Also, how anyone can not be a massive fan of Condit is beyond me. Watching him (and Faber) in the WEC on Spike is what got me into MMA.

I never got the criticism for this fight. Diaz was a major threat and it's not like Carlos took zero risks. He outpointed Diaz to get enough of a lead, then tried something big, but Diaz is crafty and could avoid it and sometimes punished Carlos for it, sort of evening up the score, so Carlos outstruck him again to make sure he had a comfortable lead on the cards again. This process happened over and over where Carlos WAS going for his big moments, but when he didn't show he was miles ahead of Diaz like he was for Hardy or Stun Gun, he had to go back to the well of just being a smarter striker.

That was the shit back in the day. It was amazing watching him look like a studious college student outside the cage, and the second the walkout came, straight up looked like a murderer coming to war.
