The weight classes are almost certainly going to be combined in some form. I don't allow more than 60 competitors to keep things moving on time and as a result need to combine the weight classes. There will probably be just 3 weight classes per belt.

The tournament was designed for people that want more tournament experience with good referees. I selected the best and most experienced refs that the IBJJF has for this one.

For more experienced practitioners, we have an option for 3 ref superfights. message me if interested!

People who throw 'racist' around generally have no idea what it means.

    race 1 (rs)
    n.
    1. A local geographic or global human population distinguished as a more or less distinct group by genetically transmitted physical characteristics.
    2. A group of people united or classified together on the basis of common history, nationality, or geographic distribution: the German race.
    3. A genealogical line; a lineage.
    4. Humans considered as a group.
    5. Biology
    a. An interbreeding, usually geographically isolated population of organisms differing from other populations of the same species in the frequency of hereditary traits. A race that has been given formal taxonomic recognition is known as a subspecies.
    b. A breed or strain, as of domestic animals.
    6. A distinguishing or characteristic quality, such as the flavor of a wine.

I don't think my use of the word "racist" is extremely accurate, but don't be obtuse and say it isn't. Or call me ignorant or some *&*&.

You can be "racist" against a nationality, such as Brazil.

But thanks for calling me out.

Bump for Dan, sorry for thread stealing.

Still not seeing the racism. Maybe it was stereotyping, but certainly not racist in the conventional use of the word.

He was making fun of Brazilians cuz we are always late, tournaments run behind, blah blah.

I get it. So I said "kind of racist" as a joke back.

Now, because of your rude reply, "People who throw 'racist' around generally have no idea what it means. "

I tried to define it for you, because, I DO know what it means.

Let it go, you look ignorant.

I like it when people argue and my thread stays on here longer! =)

Maybe I should say something controversial, open ended or goofy and something else can spin off for a few pages...

    *clears throat*

Today on Joe Rogans Podcast we will be talking about a few new topics: Marijuana's benefits, how god doesn't exist and how gi is bad for MMA.

    haha...see you there guys.

You don't. He made a comment stereotyping Brazilians. Just like saying Asians are bad drivers, Jewish people are bankers, Irishmen are drunks, etc. Those are stereotypes. Can they be used racially? Yes, but they're generally accompanied by hateful speech. Dan poked fun at a stereotype with no ill intent behind it. You can get your panties in a bunch and cry racism, but most rational people will disagree with you when they see the context in which the remark was used.

    Lighten up.
