Brazilian Police going on strike tomorrow(May 21st)

So Brazil will erupt in political protest based rioting?

The rioters were taxi drivers who took oppurtunity of the police strike, the political situation was just the background to the chaos. A lot of shit went down in merely 16 hours of strike. There were bank robberies, looting and rioting.

The link was short on details. Maybe Brazilian cab drivers aren't as disgruntled or devoid of ethics? :icon_lol:

Don't worry these guys are working hard to turn the US into the same thing.

Is there any chance, Brazil will not be able to provide adequate security, and FIFA decides to opt out of Brazil as a host? They could always quickly switch over to the US of A. We have the necessary facilities like hotels and stadiums. Or is FIFA not concerned about safety, or each country will just bring along their own security? Heck, why not just hold all the major int'l sports tourneys in the US. We don't have to build anything really.

Is the strike really for a 80% (!!!) raise?

You're reversing cause and effect. Obviously.
Wealth inequality has grown far more under Obama than under Bush.

It happened at the same time and therefore he caused it? Sterling logic, here.

Obama is too much of a Republican, and is not leftist enough. That's why the fallout from Bush policies and Republican-cheered financial deregulation wasn't properly mitigated by nationalizing the financial institutions which ruined the lives of millions.

My posited position has at least as much evidence backing it as your "correlation = causation!!".

Sheesh.
