I was just looking around on the web and found several websites that offer online training. I want to know if anyone has heard of this and is it effective (of course training at a school is always better when you can do it) ?

online training is equivalent to book and video training

I can't possibly see how it can be effective without knowledgeable training partners.

it has its benefits but it has more negatives than positives

Training at a school is essential.

Im a huge fan of online, book, and dvd trainig to go with training at a school. I belive it is essentail if you want to reach your maximum potential.

you know its like anything else. videos and books help, but there isn't a substitute for a teacher.

I found out that I developed bad boxing form by doing videos for months... i wouldn't have ever known without paying and going to a real gym...

There it is.

Training *just* online is like writing without a pen. Online training (and books, DVDs...) are just tools that are used in cooperation with a club. By itself, it isn't a good idea. But drilling these techniques at an actual club is a good way of doing it.
