is there a site deticated to strictly BJJ? All i am able to find is Top Ten BJJ fighters in MMA, but im talking about PURE BJJ. Id like to know whos on top right now as i have no trained in 2.5 years now. except yesterday when i got tapped out by Rumolu Barral, other than that ive been out of BJJ =(.

anyone have any links to those top ten bjj sites?

I don't know of any site that has a top 10 list for BJJ.

It's tricky to say, but then again... should be easier to do than MMA. In MMA, you can't really have two guys of different weight classes fight and make any conclusions about who the better fighter is. In Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, you can match up guys of different weights and, mostly, the only thing that matters is who has the better technique.

Off the top of my head... Roger Gracie, Marcelo Garcia, Ronaldo "Jacare" de Souza, Saulo Ribeiro, Xande Ribeiro, Rubens "Cobrinha" Charles are all guys that could make a claim for being #1. Then you throw in a lot of guys that don't really compete anymore in BJJ (B.J. Penn) or have moved up to the Masters divisions like Fabio Gurgel... it's REALLY hard to rank.

Then you throw in the fact that guys are very likely to grapple eachother, especially at the absolute class, with different results. Marcelo and Xande have beaten eachother. Marcelo's beaten Jacare, but lost in ADCC. Xande and Roger have grappled, to my knowledge, at LEAST four times. Jacare and Roger have gone at it a couple times. It's so hard to determine how to even rank those five guys.

So you've been out for 2+ years...then you come back...and get to roll with Romulo?!?!? You bastard!! I would actually put Romulo up there as well as the other guys that rarmonio stated. I was at the Mundials in '07 when he won his division (beating Saulo Saulo-Barral) and then lost in the absolute to Roger Roger-Barral (after beating Xande! [how did I NOT get a picture of that one?!]) Personally, for me, he was the break out fighter in '07 even though Lovato won freaking everything he entered that year. Just in that one day I say him beat BOTH the Ribeiro brothers and only lose to a much heavier Roger. He was awesome. I actually saw him the next year as he sat right behind me for a bit. Romulo He didn't compete though? Not sure if he was hurt, or thinking about MMA, or what?

Anyway, back to your question...
Don't know of any ranking sites. Sorry. LOL

He was injured (shoulder I believe).

Back to the thread - I am not aware of any such ranking.
