Brazilian champions dropping like flys

What do you expect? Most of these guys are getting older and perhaps aren't training as hard.. either that or their body isn't letting them. Barao now has a record of 32-2 is only 27 years old he can definitely bounce back IMO.

It's home court advantage and other factors.

A flight from Brazil to US is about 10 + hours, which really drains your body.

Jet Lag.

It takes up to 5-7 days for your body to fully adjust to new environment, so your body isn't performing at 100%. Most fighters fly in within a few days of their fight.

The crowd.

Having thousands of people root against you crushes your spirit and mind.
Not sure if joking or just don't understand jetlag

"O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties"

The number and size of elite camps in the U.S. seems to be going up quickly. My impression is that most Brazilian talent comes from a couple of sources.

Digging deeper I think Wrestling being such a big part of U.S. culture is a massive advantage. Its far greater than BJJ is in Brazil. As more young people see MMA as a viable career i think the US will increasingly dominate the sport.
