There's really nothing for Pantoja at FLW at the moment if they can't get DJ back for a superfight. Henry and Fig aren't very good candidates in the fact they are old and would likely struggle to make the weight. At this point I'd be ok with Pantoja getting a BW fight to stay busy while FLW works itself out. I mean, UFC allowed it for Anderson when he was champ.

Pantoja vs O'Malley at BW would be fun.
He would duck BW just like Mighty Mouse

My man forgot mm fought at bw Lololl

Also, not moving up a weight isn't ducking. What silly ppl we have on sherdog
He just fought for one year and got destroyed by Cruz
Every GOAT candidate moved up except him
You will probably say Khabob but he is not in the argument because of his title defense count let alone moving up

He fought at BW for 3 years, and the gap between flyweight and bw is harder than the other gaps. No, you can't say "it's only 10 pounds", that isn't how weight classes work.

Cruz is the goat BW....and is like 6 inches taller than him. Kind of proving the point here. DJ gives up way more size than the other goat candiates.

He's fought opponents bigger than him more often than GSP has, but I'm sure you're going on about how GSP had one fight against Michael Bisping, so your point is validated. Jose Aldo also never moved up. Fedor only fought in one weight class (in before he was only 225 and fighting 300 pound guys!! Most of the fighters were around his size at the time and he actually struggled with smaller guys more). Cruz spent just as much time at FW as DJ did at BW. Jones has had 2 fights at HW, and neither one was against someone as good as Cruz or Dillashaw.

The only "GOAT candidate" that has an extensive amount of fights in multiple weight classes is Anderson Silva. That's with the assumption that you're pretending DJ and Cruz did not fight in two different weight classes since you weren't watching MMA back then or something.

Even DJ's last few fights were against guys bigger than him. The idea that DJ never fought in multiple weight classes even though he beat Torres and Kid Yammamoto, who were literally considered the two goat candidates for under 155 fighting is kind of funny.

I know you'll say they sucked so they don't count, even though that doesn't make sense. I'm aware they were not at the apex of their careers, but pretending GSP beating up Michael Bisping at MW is the only thing that matters, but DJ beating like 7 BWs doesn't count is some real selective arguing.

Regardless, DJ wanted to get paid like a champion to take a risky fight. The other goat candidates were paid much better, which some how you left out.

Kape will beat him easily. Royval is a can.
How did you come to that conclusion?
Royval is 17-7
He had 10 UFC fights with a 7-3 record and has only lost to UFC champions in Moreno (which he avenged) and Pantoja twice.
Best wins: Moreno former champion, KKF, Taira

Kape is 20-7
He had 8 fights in the UFC with a 5-3 record. Losses to Pantoja, Mokaev & Nicolau
His best win in the UFC is ????? He has never beaten a ranked opponent.

If Royval is a "Can" what is Kape??? Maybe a juice box???

You realize DJ fought at BW for 13 of his 30 pro fights plus 8 Ammy fights at BW.

He was not "Destroyed" by Cruz at all. Cruz used his wrestling and had 10-19 TDs with 12:41 of control time and yet the striking was virtually even overall and DJ actually outlanded him in three rounds. A competitive 5 round fights against the consensus BW GOAT and then moving up to win the BW Grand Prix in One FC and winning the title there 100% is "Moving Up".

Claiming DJ never moved up is purely myth. I guess you could argue Frankie Edgar never "Moved Up" after winning the LW title but that would dumb as fuck.

Kape got robbed on all of those decision losses, while Royval has been finished twice, and has a bunch of losses to bums on the regionals. Kape has only one loss by finish, to Horiguchi in Rizin, there is no reason for Royval to be standing in his way.

Noice. Royval brings too much activity to allow Manel to fight boring. Problem for him is that when Manel does finally move he really moves...

Royval could probably edge out a close dec but I hope Kape wins. Need some craziness and fun injected in that division

Fucking hell.

Royval wins that easily, stop wasting time.

do we want fresh contenders or not??

Royval is the craziest most fun fighter in that division but okay.

Royval will win easy, he will not lose one single round to kape

They should do this,

Kape vs moreno
Royval vs asakura
KKF vs pantoja
Taira vs Albazi

Please Kape get it done a new contender is desperately needed.

Pantoja vs Kape is a rematch...

Sorry Royval but I need you to lose for the sake of the division

Nope, He's just too Dope. Even Pantoja got his ass whooped, Had to lay and pray for 2 rounds to win. Pantoja has heart like no other that is a fact. Anyone else would just Lose. I do believe that Royval is the best flyweight in the world and would beat Pantoja should they fight one more time

I'm glad to see another Flyweight main event, honestly.

I don't like either of these two, but the flyweights deserve exposure and five rounds fights.

Good stuff, winner is the rightful number one contender.

Royval chin won't handle Kape punching power. This won't end well for Royval.
