Guy is already a 5'10 featherweight. Loses to Zabit and Barzola before dropping down to 135. He won his first fight at 135, but he weighed 160 in the cage and had to run long distances daily during the weight cut just to make weight. He has his second fight against Kyung Ho Kang and loses a decision. Tomorrow he is fighting at 145 and will be facing promotional newcomer Giga Chikadze.

Personally, with his 10-7 record, its not his size that is holding him back, its his technical ability. He is already a big framed 145er. He had zero business at 135 just like Zabit has no business at 145. Glad he is back at a realistic weight class. He must of been so gassed at 135.

He really should be at LW even! but i digress! Now all he has to do is find his own damn nickname

There is only one Killa B

Im more interested in Glory kickboxer Giga Chikadze's debut against him. He was on contender series but got taken down.

Zabit has no business at 145.

I agree with your sentiments on Davis, it’s not size it’s technique (plus the likelihood of gassing from the cut).

But why is Zabit not a FW? Has he ever missed weight?

Seems like his style is a rangy out-fighter that throws volume, doesn’t have a large/muscular upper body.

He’s doing damn good at FW so what’s the deal?

He is like 6'2 and fights at 145. If he can make the weight fine, but I think like Luis Pena, he should just fight where he is comfortable. I bet we will eventually see Zabit at 155.

I just see Zabit having better cardio/speed then Pena and also a better style for the division. Also has a different build, naturally skinny/lanky without much bulk anywhere. Lives like a fucking monk from what I’ve heard.

If he goes up to 155 he’s going to be facing hitters with more power and the defensive wrestling to keep it standing. Not sure he’ll see much of an increase in power, though maybe he gets a slight boost in cardio and can stay high-volume without gassing.

But I can see him as champ at FW where he has no chance at LW - Khabib, Tony, Gaethje would all do work on him and he’s be in wars with Cowboy/Iaquinta/Hooker/Barboza. Dark horse Gregor would probably take him too I think.

Only reason to go up in weight class is for champ-champ or you need to revive your career (no path to title or career slide).

Brandon Davis is rubbish, Sherdog seems to like him due to him having 'good hands' but everything else about him is turd. Tihs is a 145lb fight because the UFC have handed him a lifeline - he was on the verge of being cut it seems but a fight fell through on this card (Danny Henry vs someone) and they needed a last minute addition. So they signed the Georgian kickboxer who fought on DWCS and offered Davis a win-or-go-home fight but on short notice at a higher weight. Davis probably wins coz the Georgian kickboxer is SHIT.

Fully expect him to win tomorrow
He’s a good fighter but I think he needs a better camp
