Yeah, 470 lbs in his strongman days. He just recently started loosing even more weight. He's slowly trying to get into arm wrestling. Below Is.when he was pushing close to 500 lbs.

Cain and Melvin are still massive guys. Melvin has fought at 205 more than once in his career and Cain is still over 6 foot and 240 some-odd pounds.
Dustin can crack, for sure, but he doesn't have power like those two guys.

Dustin would have a punchers chance since Shaw probably does not know how to react to a punch.

But yes... Strongmen are also really athletic. They are not just big guys. And Brian Shaw is fucking gigantic.


Now.. You tell me you put Shaw vs Aspinall and my money goes to Tom.
 
LOL this thread. Shaw's height is all over the map, from 6'6 to 6'8.

He's listed at 6'6 so you can bet he's 6'5. Man is an absolute unit no matter how you slice it. And he's not wrong. He'd ruin the entire UFC roster 170 and under with nothing but size/strength.
 
Shaw is not gonna have any speed or cardio.

Dustin could leg kick and evade while he gasses.

You get both extremes, one group will act like Kai Kara France would easily kill him, and another that thinks he would beat Ngannou and Aspinall due to his size advantage. Both are completely absurd in my opinion, he would be a hell of a problem for anyone less than an elite 185er, but a joke against top heavyweights.

Shaw isn’t just some “big guy” who can get beat up by a more skilled “smaller guy” … hes an extreme outlier both in size (6’7” at 450) and strength (literally the strongest man in the world at one point), making him dramatically bigger and stronger than Dustin, as well as being very athletic for his size and with some fight training.

He would hardly feel Dustin’s hits and be virtually impossible to submit. For comparison, here is Brian awarding Mr Olympia medals to 250+ bodybuilders. They look like kids 😳

He's probably right. He has a 300 pound weight advantage and he is as fit as you could ever expect of a dude over 400 pounds, presumably juiced.

Skills are great and all but you Ain't gonna KO a rhinoceros if you weigh 175 pounds.

Dustin would have to operate in a razors edge margin of error and hope he gets big boy tired before dude grabs him or hits him ONCE.
 
Who cares? Dustin is way too small and this Shaw dude is not even a fighter, just another insecure weight lifter, I would love to see him getting cute with Aspinal or Ngannou.

Yes he would, Dustin's a great fighter but not a chance he could overcome 6'6 430lbs of elite strength athlete. Get grabbed, get neutralized, get subbed by cranking any limb any direction with one hand. That level of size and power diff he could sub someone from within their closed guard, if they could even close a guard around him

Those are not 250+ bodybuilders. The one on the left is Shaun Clarida who competes at about 185lb and is basically a midget.

Smh, Shaw is probably one of the nicest people around. Not insecure in the slightest. He likes to joke and someone asked him the question.
