Law Boy Dies in Mom’s Care — Court Jails Dad for Criticizing the Judge Who Gave Her Custody

Well this reeks of some men's rights saltiness.
Guess who arrested this guy?
The police! Not the judge he threatened lol.
Protect and serve m i rite?

Cliff notes:
Mom and Dad say nasty things about each other to fight for a child; he loses.
Kid dies of some medical condition not the fault of the mom.
Dad blames some judge by name in public social media posts who apparently didn't even preside over the custody hearing and says a bunch of shit about how he is gonna dig up dirt on her and end her career. (not that we actually saw any of it)
Judge sees the shit online and reports it to police
Police give the guy a misdemeanor telecommunications maliciousness charge because he talks about how he is gonna go after the judge.
He doesn't stop making public rants about how he is gonna ruin their lives, despite the initial charge, so they arrest him for it and up his bond.
Conservative "Culture War" website Pluralist.com picks up story, cherrypicks a few tame sentences from his threats.
People like the OP run to their respective political soapboxes and cry about it online to whatever low-iq people will listen without reading into it and add their own random rants instead about how terrible women judges are.

A guilty conscience will make people do all sorts of weird shit. In this case it's abusing power in order to make the reminder she fucked up go away. Yeah, cunt.

Why are you so she won't lose her job? The judge who gave the rapist no jail time did.
that was literally the first judge to be recalled in like the last 30 years, and it required the victim be a family friend of some of the most powerful lawyers in California, spending millions of dollars on a lobbying campaign, and a rapist being given a 6 month sentence for an actual rape.

So yeah, some random judge won't get fired because a bunch of men's rights losers on some internet forums get mad that a guy, repeatedly talking shit about her online, and got jailed after multiple misdemeanors.

Wow. What's always scary about things like this is, what if nothing happens to the judge? It just sets a precedent for other judges and this judge to grossly abuse their and jail people who literally criticize them and say things about them they dont like and allow them to get away with it.
lol what?
Literally any person could report someone to the POLICE if they got targeted online with threats from a stranger. It would be up to the police to then decide if it warranted charges along with other people in the court system once processed. The dude only got jailed after he got charged with it a few times.
How the fuck do y'all think some family court judge has the authority to issue charges or jailtime for a criminal case?
Jesus christ.

What would happen to the judge though? The people are the judges judge. The people ain't gonna do shit.

And that's the point. And other judges won't do shit, because they don't ever want to be held accountable themselves. That's always been a massive problem. Judges feel themselves above the law, they don't make an example out of one of their own and endanger themselves. Lawyers want to become judges and don't want to prosecute them. It's why no consequences for these horrific political rulings.

No different in principle than say athletic commissions refusing to punish or fire incompetent judges and referees because if one of them is held accountable for incompetence, all of them are in danger. So they cover for each other. And it's no different for judges.

Nothing will happen to the judge.

I mean, she won't lose her job. I'm sure there will be outcry and there will be coverage for maybe 2 or 3 days. But the guy will get out and he'll be encouraged to examine his role and his own share of the fault in this situation.

OP should be banned.

Same for politicians.

Even the police said the guy made no threats.

So this sounds like bull shit and I hope the he gets free lawyers and they get this thrown out and the police and judge held for misconduct.

You have your piss-poor ambiguity to save your ass later, so it would be of little merit. I imagine you would view a report on Fox news as "consequence."

1) She won't lose her job.
2) This guy's in fucking jail.

Dance around that all you'd like

Hes gonna get paid for it, that's not in doubt at all. 8 figure settlement coming up.

Many judges have power trips and believe they are never wrong.

“His lawyer said something is going to happen to this child. You need to get him away from the mother. There are too many red flags. And the judge said, oh that is in the past,”
said Deborah Vanderhagen.

The petition already has over 500 signatures but I doubt she loses her job
https://www.change.org/p/lee-chatfi...acomb-county?source_location=petitions_browse

This petition is in reference to Judge Rachel Rancilio's censorship, abuse of power and violation of a constituent's right to free speech.

Following the death of Mr. Jonathan Vanderhagen's son, Killian Vanderhagen (2 Years Old), Mr. Vanderhagen began to criticize the court which issued the ruling refusing to grant him physical custody of his son. Mr. Vanderhagen believes the court responsible, at least in part, for his son's death. Whether Mr. Vanderhagen is correct in his assertion or not, it is despicable his being jailed over his criticisms of the 16th Circuit and, more narrowly, Judge Rachel Rancilio. The details as reported are as follows;

"Following the death of Killian Vanderhagen, his father, Jonathan Vanderhagen, was incensed that the child was placed in the custody of his ex-wife, who he felt was unfit, and when his child died, he began posting his criticisms of the system, and Judge Rancilo, who he felt was responsible for his child’s death, and promising, “I’m gonna dig up all the skeletons in this court’s closet.” (An investigation did not indicate that the mother caused the death)

The judge claimed to feel threatened, and referred the matter to police, who found no threat, but for "some reason" he was charged with “malicious use of telecommunications services,” and released on $2000 bond.

When he continued his criticisms, his bond was revoked, and now he is sitting in jail on $500,000 bond."

If it is Judge Rancilio's opinion that her interpretation of the law being used to jail Mr. Vanderhagen as well as the way that she is using her power to influence its enforcement is true and just, she lacks the common sense and decency to sit the bench.

We call on the Michigan State House of Representatives led by Mr. Lee Robertson Chatfield to begin an impeachment investigation into what actions Judge Rancilio took and to what extent she may or may not have used her position vindictively as an act of censorship and retaliation against Mr. Vanderhagen.

Please join us in preserving the supposed high ethical standards of Michigan's Judicial and Legislative Branches by taking immediate action and signing this petition.

Damn

WTF?

The judge should be charged with a crime for this. Not the decision, that could be more complicated than what is being presented, but for going after this guy for his criticism.

Here's a great documentary that comes down to a bad judges decision. 5/5 - watch it on netflix or whatever if you are bored.

My brother divorced his wife. In the court documents, she admits to shooting the dog. Nit for any reason, just because. It took him literally half a million with a good lawyer to get 60% custody. The woman also attempted suicide while she had the kids with her during the separation.
Basically the default setting is give the kids to the mom no matter what. It's sad and in both these cases it's scary.
Went to the house after they kicked her out. She had a lock from the outside lock on the closed door. Nephew while playing hide and seek yelled at my brother, you're never coming out. She locked them in the closet..... And she still gets the kids. She murdered a dog, starved one and then lied about giving it away, my family found it but it had to be put down as it was abused so much it was unstable
