Hi, I would like to ask you if you would enjoy watching boxing fights without clinches and headgears in a ring similar to octagon only little bit smaller and with ropes instead of mesh. Videos would be recorded from upper view plus one camera in each corner. They would be in a good quality of course and watching would be free. Thank you for answers

I don't really care to change the sport to make it "better" for fans with short attention spans. There's plenty of flash KO's and concussions in MMA. Just watch that.

Clinching isn't only a part of what the sport is, its practically instinctive. You'd just have lots of guys getting DQ'd.

Also, you should maybe check out what BKB did for a while. Its not miles removed from your suggestion.

No, The ring is one reason why I started to become more of a boxing fan over MMA. I think the cage is a terrible aesthetic

But the ring would be similar to octagon but instead of mesh there would be ropes like in the ring.

The octagon is like twice the size or something in that area. A boxing match with actual boxers would be disgusting.

I do wish fighters were penalized more often for clinching and pushing down on the head/back.

Small gloves would be cool but gloves so that fighters can punch without immediately breaking their hands and because knuckles can touch the eyeballs easily without gloves.
But no cage. First of all the cage makes for clinches as soon as 2 fighters get to the fence it just happens, also the fence makes it worse for live spectators to watch and a square is 1000 times better for striking as it's much harder to cut off the ring in a circle and makes for less action overall

Clinching is basically the most interesting part of the sport, not to sound like a hipster.. But fuckloads of things is going on, when you know what to look for.

Lots of fans aren't aware that clinching and holding are not the same thing. Holding is against the rules. Clinching is just an aspect of the sport.

we dont need another shitty boxing spinoff like BKB trying to wrangle mma fans (no offense)

also the octagon is the worst part about the ufc. pride was a billion times better, because there was no wall n stall (well that and the stomps/soccer kicks)

if you want to make something that will get mma fans to watch, have a regular boxing event with all 4-round fights where it's somebody decent vs a tomato can and do enough marketing/promos to sell the tomato can as a legit contender.

This man gets it

I think there's a space in the market for a stand up only combat sport in a cage, grappling bores a lot of fans. In fact John Wayne Parr, the muay thai champion promotes his own version of this, basically Muay Thai in a cage, youtube "Caged Muay Thai" to have a look.
