If anyone hasn't noticed yet, there are numerous boxing glove brands and styles out there, but generally, one brand will share traits with all of its models of gloves. I'm going to try to do a review/overview of the major ones I have tried.

Just a thought: Anyone remember a few years ago when everlast advertised their gloves as, "made in the Bronx, NY".

Their gloves were stellar then.

haha now their tags say, "made in india"

Everlast It has a long standing tradition of well made, quality boxing gloves, but that's where it ends. The quality of most of their stuff has hit the crapper. I have tried a few gloves over the past two years, and the stitching has generally been awful. I have tried their pro fight gloves, pro training gloves, protex 2 and 3 gloves. The protex 3 collar is kind of a joke, its all about looks. It doesn't give any better wrist support than most others. The pro training gloves are hard as a rock and thin with the padding.

Back in 07' after watching the contender, I bought a pair of their 16 oz lace up training gloves and I used those until they wore out. The stitching was fantastic and they were comfortable. But after that until now, their quality sucks. I don't recommend anything from them except their mx pro fight gloves. They are very popular and well made, although I haven't tried them.

Ringside: Sells everything, including many other brands other than its own. The quality of their gloves has been dropping steadily over the past 1-2 years. They were one of the first companies to introduce the IMF tech gloves, although the gloves they sell now of this style aren't nearly as good quality as some others. I bought a pair about 6 months ago and the left glove was missing its logo. I also liked their Safety training gloves, pretty soft padding. They also sell grant, reyes, everlast, and Lonsdale. I will go over them later.

Ring to Cage: A fairly new company, that is quickly expanding their inventory. I heard they bought a new warehouse for all their new products. They make their own version of the IMF tech gloves, which I prefer hands down to ringside's; simply due to their highl quality. They also sell others products that look very similar to ringsides at comparable prices. They sell their own handwraps, and head gear. Keep checking their website for updated products and new IMF tech glove colors. They're great. Don't be afraid to call their customer service for any questions.

Grant: A world renound company. Makes pro fight gloves for pros and amateurs alike. I really like their pro fight gloves, although they are expensive. They last a long time. Their training gloves are also very high quality, generally, although for me, not the most comfortable. They are a punchers glove, meaning that, they have limited padding on the knuckles and allows your sparring partner to really feel your power. They have more equal padding distribution on the wrist and knuckles. For me, they are rough on the hands and I don't use them, but I have had used them before, and if your ok with using a mexican style glove, these are great.

They also make custom gear. If you want pro fight gloves with custom colors, it's $300 plus shipping and I believe around $400 for custom training gloves. They also make their own lower end line of gear, the campeon line and I haven't used them, but generally their good quality but not the most protective padding

Cleto Reyes: The truest punchers glove. Their pro fight gloves are made with horsehair and some foams, your opponent really feels your power. Fantastic, top of the line quality. They also make a safetec pro fight gloves, which uses a somewhat thin layer of molded foam. These give more hand protection. Their training gloves are styled in the same way of grants, but are their own beasts. They are mexican style and are rough for me hands, so I don't use them, although i've tried them out before.

Title Boxing: A competing distributor to ringside. They sell a variety of styles, title gel, platinum, classic, and fighting sports. They also sell their own version of a pro fight glove, but they are very very rough, yet inexpensive. I haven't seen many pros, almost none at all, using them, although they're cheap. Also, their title pro training gloves, are used with the same padding as their pro fight gloves. They also sell, everlast, adidas, throwdown and several others.

While I only like a few of title's gloves, they are all mostly excellent quality.

My favorite from title: Their title platinum training gloves. Not great wrist support but enough when tied. These gloves protect your knuckles very very well and are good quality. They are kinda of boring to look at but they are classic looking and will last a long time.

Lonsdale: Good molded foam gloves, distributed mostly by ringside, very expensive, and not good quality, overall. although they protect your hands well.

I will keep updating and if anyone has additional thoughts, please share. These are just my experiences with diff. companies and brands. I will update.

Nice breakdown.

How is the wrist protection on the Grant training gloves. I've been using Grant Campeon bag gloves which I love, but I need some more wrist protection than they provide.

As long as there's someone to tie them, pretty good and snug, Although they don't give the best knuckle protection

Thanks. I can have anyone in my gym tie them. I've never had any issues with my knuckles, so I don't anticipate that being a problem.

sorry, I meant to say, anyone can buy them, but they are far more expensive

Nice Title review. Couldn't agree more on the Platinums. I got the Paramount and I kind of hate it because I want to try something new but they just last so long.
