hey guys im new here and new to this, but i like my kit... i currently bought some CSI hybrids and some better hand wraps for my poor bruised knucks, thinking of upgrading gloves, im eyeing the windy training from MMAmuscle, but am also considering getting them in 18oz... i currently have the Hugo agiles in 16oz, but they feel pretty stiff and not padded

any reason not to go to 18oz??
i was eyeing these up and the Title gel gloves...but from research think the windys are better
i like SSF as well, but the smallish hand compartment has me worried, also, are the Windys thumb in a different position form a regular boxing glove (unnatural fist) to make for easier clinch?? is this a bad thing?

thanks all

phats

When you are throwing punches heavery gloves are better because they pad your opponet better. The also help increase shoulder strength and hand speed. The downside is your defence will suffer while useing heavier gloves because they are bigger and give you more space to hide behind and block punches with. Mauy gloves such as Windy's do have the thumb positioned differntly to make it easier to clinch. SFF's Mauy gloves are great gloves and very well made. I don't own any Windy's but have heard good things about them. I personaly prefer Grant gloves. As far as construction goes the SFF gloves are right on with Grant they are very well made gloves.

depends on what u wana use them for... training gloves are more expensive and can be used for all-around work.. but if u're mainly hitting the bag mostly.. u should go with a bag glove..

the TITLE gel bag gloves are 20oz.. but they're the size of 12oz.. =]

i dunno about the training GEL gloves though.. maybe someone could shed some light on it? :/

My understanding is gel gloves are normaly pretty hard hitting gloves and not very fun for your training partner.

thanks guys... pretty sure ill get the windys......what are some good brands that have a normal place thumb...i assume ringside, grant and i see top ten in canada...but $140/ea!!

options are REALLY limited in Canada

i guess what i want to know is the thumb postition on the windys wont effect my barefist or MMA glove punch, in that i would break a thumb?

thanks

The windy's wont have that effect at all. A vast majority of MMA fighter do thier training in Mauy style gloves.
