Boxing Discussion VIII

Dubois has power but couldn't stop the only durable guy he's faced, Kevin Johnson. A true power puncher in Anthony Joshua stopped Johnson (then age 35, against age 38 vs Dubois) in R2.

Joyce can take a punch, not saying he wouldn't get KOd by a Joshua or a Wilder but Dubois is a 21 year old kid. Lots of heavyweights start their careers with high KO percentages.

Clearly most people disagree because the odds are holding for now.

Seems like most bettors are on Estrada to win this time based on Estrada being injured in the first fight and the Thai supposedly on a decline, but Rungvisai has won me a lot of money so I will back him one more time at close odds and hope that power makes the difference.

Wisaksil Wangek (-108) vs Juan Francisco Estrada $216.00 for $200.00

Rances Barthelemy (+500) vs Robert Easter Jr. $100.00 for $500.00

Viktor Postol (-165) vs Mohamed Mimoune $330.00 for $200.00

Bet Ryder over Akkawy at +470 and my book pulled the line. Bet is still pending but suspect they void it

Edit: They re-opened the lines with Ryder -375 but my bet stands. Cashed out for 4x my stake before they fix it. (wasn't a big bet but I'll take a free pizza and beer when I get it)

So I have never been impressed with Jarett Hurd. The guy is all size and stamina and no real skill. He is not even the most powerful guy. He reminds me a little of the Paul William's and Margarito type of fighter. Julian William's is talented. The fact that he is +375 is so insane to me. I just think he should be in more like a +190 area.

Charlo is so much more explosive than Hurd. He caught J Rock with punches that Hurd probably cant land on a heavy bag. The fact that JRock got up from the uppercut Charlo landed tells me he has the heart to go toe to toe with Hurd.

+375!! Either I'm missing something or I'm about to get the odds of a lifetime.

Emanuel Navarrete (-190) vs Issac Dogboe $190.00 for $100.00
Emanuel Navarrete wins by KO/TKO/DQ (+275) $75.00 for $206.25

Julian Williams (+499) vs Jarrett Hurd $100.00 for $499.00
Julian Williams (+499) vs Jarrett Hurd $100.00 for $499.00

It's too bad this thread is dead. +450 opportunity and a pretty easy win. One of the best gambling nights in a while. It's why betting on fighting sports is the best.

Andrade was also one of the biggest bets I have made in MMA.

Good call on the +450 but Andrade was being completely outclassed. Very low % finish

Small bets for Thursday night Golden Boy action:

Juan Antonio Rodriguez (+194) vs Romero Duno $50.00 for $97.00

Rigoberto Hermosillo (+423) vs Manny Robles III $50.00 for $211.50

Deontay Wilder wins in round 1-6 (+150) $100.00 for $150.00

Anybody see any spots they are liking this weekend? I was considering a play on Trout over Gausha but the line has gotten worse over the last day or so. Not sure I’m confident enough to play the current -220.

Yea. I definitely favor him. Just wish it was more like -160 area

Who else do you like tonight? I’m a hopeless degen looking at tail since no mma this weekend.

I’m no boxing expert myself, just trying to find a few plays for today too. The only other fight I really looked into is Ito vs Herring. Much like the Trout fight, I feel like Ito probably gets the win, but may be too expensive now after a big line shift.

I think I’ll probably put in a small play on both guys just for some action, but I don’t have much confidence that there’s a lot of value left in either line.

Took Herring @ +178. Hunter under 7.5 @ -120. Trout by decision evens
