I guess the split between Pac and PBF when they fight will be determined by the PPV buys of the two PPVs at the end of the year. Honestly, do people really want to watch Floyd fight? Will the casuals buy a PBF PPV again considering he's not really an exciting fighter? He's not really know for KO power but for his boxing ability and defense. I don't think casual are enamored by that. Pacquiao has the style and support, and KO power but his past performances have been pretty dull. so let's see now, who do you think the casuals will support more? Who will have the bigger draw?

1st of all, yes. People still want to watch Floyd fight. It might sound surprising... there are still people out there that enjoy the art of boxing.

Personally as much as I love Pacquiao. 9 out of 10 times I'd rather watch an artistic performance by Floyd Mayweather or someone like Bernard Hopkins over Pacman... but thats just me.

As far as the casual fans go.. again, yes.. People want to see Floyd fight. He knows how to sell a fight. Even if the casual fan doesn't appreciate his skills as much as some of us, they'll still tune in.

So who's going to draw more ppv buys in the upcoming fights? .. My bet would most likely be with Floyd Mayweather, but I wouldn't put it past Pacquiao and Marquez.

We'll see. One thing though, I prefer to watch boxers that try to finish their opponents, break them down and stop them. I don't think casuals are enamored by a fighter who'd rather play defense and try to win via decision. its why b-hop's never been a big draw. i think casuals like fighters who fight. i think ortiz-pbf gets below 1M and Pac-JMM 3 does around 1.3M

I honestly think that Mayweather/Ortiz is gonna look alot like Mayweather/Gatti. It's gonna be a systematic, technical beatdown of an exciting fighter. Have you seen any of Ortiz's previous fights? The kid's got heart, good recovery time, and kayo power. That's all the ingredients of an exciting fighter. Mayweather's style may not appeal to the casual viewer, but Ortiz's certainly does. Plus, nobody markets themselves like Floyd. Hell, even Floyd vs JMM managed to do a million buys. On top of that, Saul Alvarez might be fighting on the undercard of the Mayweather fight, so that's probably a shit load of more PPV buys that you can count on.

lol, me too.

Watching guys like Tyson/Pacquaio/RJJ is asthetically pleasing, no doubt. But you can really learn alot more about boxing by watching Floyd/Hopkins/Toney/etc.

To me, Floyd has his fans to buy ppv's, and average fans that will get the fight. Floyd also has people that will buy the fight just to see if he loses. Pac has the first 2 of the 3, I mean, he does have haters but I doubt if they'll buy the fight. To sum it all up, Floyd gets more ppv's imo.

I think the Mosley fights turned off a lot of fans. Both the PBF and Pac fights. We'll see who can rebound better and we'll see what each fighter is really worth by their name. I think the casuals found PBF-Mosley very dull. Anyways, we'll see. See you guys in five months.

First a fight between Floyd and PAC will NEVER happen. So there will be nothing to split.

Sec. hell yeah people want to watch floyd in the ring, so I think it would do around 1.3-1.5 mil.

Floyd is still the bigger PPV draw because he's still the more dynamic personality. As others have said, nobody markets themselves like Floyd. Love him or hate him he is a genius when it comes to that. That's just the thing...you either love Floyd or you HATE Floyd. There is no inbetween.

Floyd is using the limited supply strategy. If he fought as often as Pac, there is no way he would be able to compete with him in ppv numbers.. He is just not as exciting.. especially to the average fan that doesn't appreciate the subtle details of his game...... but, if he denies the world a chance to see him, but claims he's the greatest fighter to ever put on gloves constantly... and he's on dancing with the stars and gots 50 cent being his twitterbitch.. well there's a lot of hype that can be generated there with a lot of fans that might not normally be interested.. and he understands this.

So he makes all these claims.. and some say.. "really? Wow.. I gotta see this shit"... and others say.."bullshit! I'm going to watch you get proven wrong!" and may takes both factions money

So, I would not be surprised to see the PBF deprived fans buy up 1.2-3 million ppvs for his bout with Ortiz...

that said.. this fight is going to be 50/50 or it won't happen. May won't take less.. Pac won't take less...

Actually, in my experience, casual fans found FM/SM more exciting than MP/SM simply because of the reason that Shane cracked Floyd hard twice in the second round and ppl were honestly excited to see Floyd almost get laid out.

Who are these people saying Money is boring? I think a lot of narrative has been built up about MM running or something, he stands in the pocket all the time.

Pac while entertaining himself has not been in with a live dog since Cotto. Clotty was a punching back and SSM was a sparring partner. Hope JMM can at least make it a fight but I fear that time has passed.

One thing about JMM, at least he will come to fight. I'd much rather pay to see Manny knock somebody out early versus pay to watch a 12 round sparring session.

He has had more than his fair share of time in the ring standing 3-6 feet away from his opponent. He simply does not take the risks necessary to close the show sometimes... and he is almost always capable.. but chooses not too.. and that is what people criticize... Even Oscar had a spell where he wasn't going for the kill and the rumors started flying around.. "Oscar doesn't like to get hit".."he's not a real Mexican"... etc... what they were saying is Oscar needs to be more willing to put himself at risk in order to close the show..I think Floyd gets a lot of the same type of criticism.. perhaps because it worked on DLH.. he started taking risks.. and people may feel that PBF will react the same way.. and to be honest.. he did vs. Mosley.. he took risks and gave the crowd what they wanted. More of that and the critics will disappear.

A Mayweather fight is more than the fight. You get to see the man do what he does on 24/7. Gotta give him credit, he's the best there is at selling a fight.

The 24/7 is the best hype show in combat sports. A few episodes of those and hbo getting into Ortiz's story is going to sell a lot of ppvs alone.

24/7 is incredible. It's so much better than what Showtime fired out there to hype Pacquiao-Mosley. 24/7 actually had me believing Margarito had a shot against Pac, Fight Camp had me believing Pac-Mosley would suck, and it did. But heck I still bought it anyway. ;)

may-pac has ZERO to do with money.

why is that so hard for you people to understand?
