Maybe, but what reason is there to think that a wrestler wouldn't be able to pin Stephen Thompson? Defending against pins like that and that sort of folkstyle ground-wrestling is probably something he never really deals with.

What part of it makes you think it's "a clear and obvious scripted work"? I'm genuinely curious. To me it looks like two guys legit sparring wrestling, one of whom is bigger and stronger and has probably wrestled since he was a kid, and the other who's mostly just wrestled in an MMA context as an adult.

I just don't see any reason to presume that. They are keeping a lighthearted, humorous demeanor, but that doesn't mean it is a work, if anything, it means the opposite, it shows that they aren't worried about selling something to the viewers.
