Most of that money coming form Japanese commercials, but not all of it (also left over NFL money).

Yeah, Sapp was only in the NFL 2 years. Maybe 500k before agent and taxes, 250k after(?).
Didn't even last long enough to be vested in their pension/health.

Now the commercials, merchandise, and personal appearances...

Good for him for being smart with his money.

Sapp is the p4p smartest man in MMA. While guys like Cain will retire with 600,000, this mother will retired with 10 millions.

he has 10 mlions right now dude, of course he spent a lot of it already.

most of it is probably his tour of shame.

He was getting paid and took almost 0 damage.

Not surprising. There's a lot of shit guys with his build/character do outside the US in terms of commercials/appearances etc.

Lot of famous/familiar people get paid well doing that stuff overseas.

While that number sounds a little unbelievable, people don't seem to understand just how big he was in Japan. Both he and Don Frye essentially could live off the fame they had there for the remainder of their lives.

It probably could have been higher given his celebrity in Japan. Good for him though. Bob is a smart guy. Educated at the University of Washington. Wasn't in some faux degree program for athletes either, I think he got a nursing degree.

The Beast was trolling us after all? Good for him, I guess. Made some major $$$ and was huge in Japan, anyway. Although I would sat that he most def. "retired" from MMA many years ago, in terms of giving a crap about his fights.

I feel like if he was a millionaire he wouldnt've been a record padder for no name fighters in low level shows. Who the fuck would travel to kazahstan to tap to strikes unless they are broke.

This. Seems completely pointless to pick up 30-50k (and that's being generous) to waste a week and go through all the travel and such to a weird country only to lose in like ten seconds, if you already have millions in the bank.

I call BS because Bob Sapp has seemed pretty crazy lately and it just doesn't make much sense.

Great, he made millions over the last several years fooling the public by throwing fights.

Tell him not to let the door hit his ass on the way out.

That's millions more than most of the retired UFC fighters.
