No way they're cutting Craig. He has gotten a lot of press from his BJJ tournament, he's worth keeping for that alone.

If Craig is out the UFC it's because he wants to do something else.

Paul Craig must have done something very bad to deserve this.

I think he’s just on his way out. His chin is really cracked and he’s losing to people in a way like anybody who tags him can beat him. Like, it’s not just that Paul shouldn’t be in the ufc performing like that, he shouldn’t be a professional fighter at all performing like that. He needs serious medical clearance.

I like Paul Craig, but he is way too willing to go to his back and try to fight from there...which probably isn't the best plan against Bo Nickal. Craig is 1-4 in his last five, and that includes 1-2 since moving to 185. He's a tough out for almost anyone, but the only real advantage he has over Nickal is experience.

I think I like Nickal via KO. I can't say I know much about Bo's stand up as his knockouts haven't been very substantial (usually early in the fight) and he has otherwise seemed to get takedowns before much of a stand up battle ensues, but I tend to believe he is a solid striker even though I don't really have any evidence. I don't know why I believe this... I just do. He's a great athlete that knows how to get better. I'm kinda banking on him being used to being punched in the face, because if he isn't, it won't be pretty if Craig touches him.

I tend to agree -- aside from his win over Muniz (which was a back and forth scrap), it just seems his skills have depreciated; he's probably spending too much of his camp making weight. His striking was gradually improving when he was at 205.

wow. “best wrestler in the ufc.” that’s giving him a lot of credit for his credentials. and perhaps he is. idk.

as of today, he’s attempted 11 takedown in the ufc and landed 4 of them. i haven’t really seen him use his wrestling offensively in a way that shows he’s the “best” in that particular facet, at least for mma. it’s difficult to judge best wrestling sometimes because some great wrestlers basically use their wrestling to keep the fight standing (eg, romero, gaethje). and we’ve also seen many fighters with diminutive wrestling pedigrees demonstrate great mma wrestling (jones, gsp, sherk, dj, etc.). and of course we have fighters like khabib, where wrestling is the definitive skill that wins his fights.

i don’t know if bo nickal is gonna end up being a great mma wrestler. he might find out that wrestling saps his energy and ends up head hunting like justin. that seems to happen quite often with wrestlers who come to mma.
