I got my copy of Lucio Fulci's classic in the mail from Diabolik DVD today & I'm watching it as I write this. And it's amazing. I never got around to replacing my old DVD copy with a Blu-ray version but I had watched the film in HD a couple of times over the past year or so on Showtime & I thought that the print they had was pretty damn good. I was impressed by it but seeing it in this newly restored 4K UHD version is even better than seeing it in the theater for the first time as a kid back in 1980. It's something else.

So, if you're a Fulci fan or just a general horror movie buff who still collects physical media, I highly recommend buying this disc. It comes with a plethora of extras that are practically worth the price of the set on their own. And even if you haven't taken the plunge into the 4K waters yet, I still highly suggest getting this version because the Blu-ray copy looks spectacular as well.

I recently got the VHS version off eBay for 20 USD. Buying old VHS horror movies is kinda my jam.

Anyways, I like the movie and rank it top 10 Zombie films with no hesitation.

I'd say that its more realistic and slow burn than the Romero Zombie films.

The blu-ray looks amazing, so I have no doubt the UHD is great. Cool to see BU, Synapse, and Vinegar Syndrome doing UHD's.

That's cool, bro. Do you collect them to view them or just as collectibles? Either way, what's your most valuable tape?

I sold off my VHS collection about 20 years ago but I kept about a half dozen of my most valuable tapes. The top three of which are the first Media copy of HALLOWEEN from 1979 & the first Universal copies of HALLOWEEN II & AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON, both from 1982. All of which are still in excellent condition. I was offered some pretty good money for all three of them but I enjoy having them as collectibles too much to sell them.

I buy them to watch.

I am fascinated with the idea of watching a film how it was originally released.

I don't necessarily need first media copies of films to get enjoyment out of them, For example I have Halloween but its the 1997 rerelease of Halloween.

Now for my rarest tape, its no doubt going to be the original release of "The Junkman" from 1982. It's directed by H.B Halicki and it serves as the sequel to Gone in Sixty Seconds and it features the famous movie car "Eleanor"

How I came upon this tape was from my Dad. My dad was actually good friends with H.B Halicki and would often go over and see all these famous cars from his movies. So Halicki gifted my dad was one of the first copies of the movie and I'm lucky enough to still have it today.

Oh, wow. That's very cool. Thanks for sharing the story behind that tape.
