Warning: It's fucking long, so yeah...

First, its no secret Holly striking is light years ahead of her division. It's proven that it's dangerous to rush towards her on the feet, but she wasn't that dangerous when being the aggressor as seen in her first 2 ufc fights.

So just let her be the aggressor! Keep backing up the whole fight carlos condit style and be the countering one. Keep circling out and not let her corner you. Minimise as much damage as possible on the feet with her.

Once she starts rushing in and yelling(as she has done in her fights before), time for the perfect double and take her down. Even if she stuffs it it will make her aware and not strike as freely as she would. Take down threat can help closer the striking gap between the wrestler and the striker. Sometimes wrestlers even outstrike a better striker because of take down threats!

Once you get the takedown i don't know if holly's easy to hold down consider how big and strong she is. But i think you can always hit her when she scrambles up then shoot a double and charge her towards the cage. Then grinds her at the cage. Once she gets out reset to the original step and repeats everything again.

The key is:
-The narrower your striking gap is with her, the higher chance you can win(So there's no short cut)
-Have a very good double like gsp or mendes
-Have good top control
-Holly's mentality---we haven't seen her in any losing/being dominated situations so far and her mental toughtness is a question mark. Will she breaks after being constantly taken down and domimated on the ground?
-How good is her ground game?

Ronda isn't a wrestler and doesn't have good doubles or singles so holly can stuff her clinch throws doesn't nessasary mean she can stuff a wrestler's double as good, so don't blindly use the "she can stuff ronda's takedowns so she can stuff everyone's takedowns" argument

Holly hasn't show any holes in her game yet. And after the ronda fight everyone seems to think that she is an "unstoppable KO machine". But i believe she performed that well at the ronda fight was because ronda's agressive style worked right into holly's attacks and gave all the opportunites for holly to nail her hard.

That's my breakdown and yeah, props for reading it all

Not sure if you have watched any more of her fights, however when people stand off her she doesn't press them that much. She is a patient fighter, however she does have gaps, like everyone.

I think a real aggressive striker would do well against her, someone who could take a good shot and keep coming forward. A bigger JJ if you like.

She has a strong ability to slip and rip, which she did all fight with Ronda, however did not throw a load of combos, someone who could take the left and fire back accurately would do well.

Going down the sole grappling route, especially wrestlers is common place to go to, however she just defeated the best judo player ever to step in the octagon, with ease.

or wait her to get out of her prime and injured prone

i don't know... just don't see any girls at 135 have the striking ability to outstrike her only using stand up

What? Now we need to design a blueprint and build a prototype fighter to beat Holly Holm? It was just 9 months ago she arguably lost to 12th ranked Raquel Pennington (6-5). The strike count was 44-40 over 3 rounds, and the split decision in Holm's favor was roundly booed.

What is needed against Holm is somebody who doesn't lose their composure and fall to pieces after getting hit a few times - which can be said about many fighters in the division.

Greg Jackson's 101. Come TOO agressive you are about to receive a oblique kick to the knee. You should see the begining of the fight again.

Lmao 15 year old high school wrestler if you ask me.

Also failing a double leg will not make her lighten up on her striking. It will probably make her loosen up and turn up her volume.

wat? no, i meant every fighter's prime will come to an end. Like basketball, tennis and every other sport for that matter... Age is a huge factor. Maybe not so much for the HW division but holly's 34. How long you think she can actually hold onto that belt before wear and tear plays in?

All the accolades to Holm though. She deserves every bit of it and is such a beautiful champion. She'll go down as a GOAT for sure.

It's not that simple. Fighters like Holly Holm and Floyd Mayweather will pick you apart if you just stand there, or if you back up. And if you charge at them (which is your best chance) you will play into their strength. Damned if you do damned if you don't.

she didn't lose anything, she got pushed on the chest in the 3rd round and slipped, making a judge jizz his pants.

Re-watch the actual fight, underwhelming performance, but nothing controversial.

I would like to see her fight Germaine de Randamie she matches up real well with her
