not sure what forum to post this in but it happened wrestling so...
the other day i got crossfaced really hard my nose felt kind of runy so went and blew my nose, blood came out..... now today several days later my keeps bleeding off and on and appears slightly swollen on the bridge.... is there anything i can do for this if so what??

Two options -

1) hope it heals up soon (it usually does).

2) get your nose cauterized, which should pretty much keep it from bleeding for months

Before you get your nose cauterized, you should try using a saline/gel spray such as Rhinaris or Ayr. These will moisturize your nasal passages and should reduce the frequency of your nosebleeds.

This happened to be a few years ago. It just got better over time.

i used to get nose bleeds a lot, usually from coughing or throwing up too hard (thats what too many bong hits will do to you :D )...but anyway, basically u popped a blood vessel in your nose...i would say to just wait it out...it will soon go away...i dont think there is much to do in the mean time to be honest tho...within a week or two u should be all better

yeah, if u hit it not even that hard, u are going to bleed...eventually, if u dont keep hitting it, it will fix itself

Bleeding AND swelling usually indicates a break/fracture.
Have you had an xray?

Anyway, it might be worth getting it checked out just to make sure that your breathing isn't effected for the long term.

Hope you feel better soon.

I'd hold off on cauterization. Playing hockey as a kid I had my fair share of nose bleeds, actually WAY more than my fair share. I had my nose cauterized 3 times, and it worked, but not in the long run.

Long story short, a DR told me cauterization can makes thing way worse, because it scars the tissue and it doesn't heal properly. Now I just put a dab of Vaseline on a Q-tip, put in side where it bleeds and it's all good.
