So I've been reading the character assassination of Yoel Romero and Anthony Johnson on there, among others lately.

It's a tell when they remove comments that totally disagree with the "report" on there. Its like the articles are written by people with agenda's and are out to destroy peoples careers.

Its shoddy journalism at best, if someone has an argument in a gym and some woman decides to cry and kick up a fuss about doing something somewhere she shouldnt have been, the default action from there is to start crying to the gym where MMA fighters train like a spoilt brat because she couldn't do her yoga in a weights area.

Johnson was cleared of domestic abuse, yet they still vilify him on there. Its like saying you didn't get done for rape but you have the stigma of a rapist because the accused is named in the papers but the victim - even if found to be a lying sack of shit, will never be named.

The reporting on there is attrocious these days. Does any MMA news outlet actually write anything decent?

    Bleacher report
    Bloody elbow
BJpenn.com (i know this site is joke)

Are there any decent MMA news outlets that arent just tabloid, butt hurt opinion pages anymore?

I read that Johnson article on there and it was more about how he got away with domestic violence/abuse without the UFC suspending him or anything.

The latest incident was thrown in to prove a point.

Really wasn't that bad of an article, the writer had a point.

    BloodyElbow (Connor Ruebusch)
    Fightland (Jack Slack)

That's all as about written articles. Occasionally good articles occur on random MMA sites, but they're few and far between.

I honestly don't know of any, TS. A lot of these so-called MMA "journalists" don't know the meaning of the word objective. It's like most of them run with the same PC, progressive narrative every time a story breaks out of some fighter doing something wrong.

They seem to love throwing them under the bus, acting outraged, and mounting their high horses over it, too. It's shameful.

Yes, I don't get what they intend to achieve with these articles. Destroy the sport they so love?

BR is indeed garbage. hack journalism, at best...sometimes bordering on tabloid-quality writing.

It's basically bitching and moaning about fighters they don't like and jumping at every opportunity to berate them. They are angry nerds who call themselves reporters.

Bleacher Report is a click-bait website.

Doesn't Chiapetta work for them now? He's decent.

I don't go on any websites and read MMA articles anyway unless there is a link to one in a thread, I usually just get my news on forums where I can comment and talk with other people. There is always a thread posted by someone with recent news anyways so why bother going to websites with articles? I only do this for MMA though, kinda weird, everything else I do visit websites and articles.

    The problem is twofold:

    - the sport itself is really based around sports entertainment not genuine competition, which manifies the second problem;
    - negative sensationalism in the media gets the public interest

The type of people who care about MMA at a shallow level are often simply into being entertained, that sort of 'journalism' is always likely to appeal to such an audience.

He was cleared of one charge of domestic violence, he was convicted for the others. He's an idiot for throwing a huge fit like that when he DOES have a history of domestic violence, he can thank himself
