Blaydes is not a headliner and doesn't belong anywhere near a 5 round fight

DC absolutely does not have a 'huge striking advantage'. his decent striking comes from threat of TD - and blaydes is the one guy in the division who might be able to stuff his TDs as well.
Blaydez looked like he could have knocked out Volkav on the feet but he didn't have the confidence. I'm not sure if he has the composure necessary in the stand up department.

DC not only KO'd Stipe but was able to spend majority of the second fight standing. He's also been able to hold his own against Rumble, and Jon Jones. Blaydes is much much more reliant on takedowns than DC in order to even remotely strike.

No he doesn't.

Volkov was stuffing him by the 4th round and Stipe and DC actually have wrestling, cardio and striking.

They'd keep it standing and tune him up on the feet.
How bout because Volkov ia also a top 10 fighter?

Who are these idiots who keep criticizing Blaydes' cardio. 14 takedowns with at least one takedown each round, 25 shots, and also won significant strikes over a 5 round fight. How could anyone say that he has poor cardio.

first stipe fight was an eyepoke, then he got finished in the rematch. he didn't hold his own against jones, he looked pretty well lost (altho granted jones does that to most guys).

take away the fact that he's an olympic level wrestler who is the greatest TD threat in the entire org, and his striking doesn't get him anywhere. it's all predicated on threat of TD. DC's striking is effective in the context of mma, but rudimentary.

blaydes could potentially outstrike either one. his boxing is no joke now. to say he doesn't have a chance is stupid.
No way. He might land a haymaker and pull a giant upset but there is absolutely zero chance he outstrikes either over the duration of a fight. Hes “decent” at best. Blaydes is the beneficiary of being in a division that literally has 3 good fighters. Arlovski, overeem, Rothwell and Werdum are unquestionably removed from their fighting primes.

I don’t recall HW ever being this shallow, not even when Sylvia was champ.

Watching that for 25 minutes was akin to waterboard torture. His cardio is terrible and his top game is basic.

Khabib he is not.
Yes, he's Blaydes.
You should not compare LW to HW.
There is a huge difference when it comes to grappling department.
Besides Khabib is only one, and he has great cardio. If you have worse cardio than Khabib it does not says that you got bad cardio.

And regarding not a headliner - thus far he managed to finish top opponents way before time ran out, so it's a complete bullshit.

Pretty ironic considering he was shitting on Ngannou's cardio in a 5 rounds fight against Stipe.

he is aggressive, today was an exception.

What's weird is that was a 3rd round stoppage and he doesn't seem gassed like he did last night.

Almost seems like he didn't time his vitamin and supplements correctly. Probably should have taken the vitamin C tab in the morning and the powdered broccoli at night.

Plus, he really should have come in maybe 15 pounds lighter. Lay off the itis diet and get in better shape.

Still a lot better than Blaydes.

I think it says it all about Heavyweight MMA when a guy like Blaydes is breaking records (number of successful takedowns) in the UFC.

Yesterday's UFC Main Event was the first one I turned off to watch the local news instead.

I was playing video games during the prelims.

Agreed. Another heavyweight mug who thinks he’s worth something. Amazingly lame fighter
