Blast from the past: weird, Paul Varelans Wiki entry

I just stumbled across this on Paul's wikipedia page; seemed strange and random:

In October 1996, a school district cancelled an appearance by Varelans at a local school where he was to have spoken to students in grades three through five.[2]

The article in question was titled "'Ultimate fighter' muzzled"

In trying to check it I was directed to a Canadian news paper archive that did not show the article, and wants a fee. I then tried to check an archived version of the url on the wayback machine but it had nothing saved. Does anyone know any backstory on this weird, old entry?

Fighter Paul Varelans was scheduled to give a motivational speech and martial arts demonstration to third- through fifth- grade students at Taft Elementary School at 1 p.m. today.

But Redwood City schools Superintendent Ron Crates canceled the appearance after learning about Varelans' sport.

In thinking back to memories of Paul, I am now kind of getting my daily chuckle thinking of the "polar bear" giving a demonstration to 3rd thru 5th graders lol. I would love to be a fly on the wall for that potentially wild scene.
